How we ranked these golf betting sites
Most rankings of golf betting sites score odds, apps and offers, then say every bookmaker settles bets “in the usual way”. We read the golf rules at all 10, twice, and scored what was written down.
Operators launched this year are not ranked here, because a golf rules page that has not been through a season is untested. They sit on our best new betting sites page.
An operator that publishes nothing on a settlement case loses the marks for it. Silence is not a pass. That is why this order looks unlike the one on our best betting sign up offers page.

Market headings are counted as the operator lists them, so splitting nationality markets raises the figure. Tiebreak: the operator scoring higher on the four settlement cases goes first, then fewer clicks.
Why we score what an operator publishes
A rule that is written down can be held to. When a golfer walks off on the 7th hole, the punter’s only recourse is the page the bookmaker published before the tournament started.
So we scored the page, not the practice. A rules page that says only “bets stand” after a player tees off has not said the bet loses, and we recorded it as silence. 3 of the 10 do that.
Dead heats are the same. 4 operators publish the sum. Of the other 6, Sky Bet puts it on a separate page and bet365 covers the place part only. The rest name the rule and stop.
What you can find on a bookmaker’s site, and what you cannot
You can find the settlement rules, if you know where to look. Clicks from the home page ran from 2 to 4 across the 10, and 1 operator’s rules sit in a PDF on a separate domain.
You cannot find a standard golf each way term for a tournament outright at any of the 10. The places and fraction are set per market, so the coupon on the day is the only source.
You also cannot find a golf offer this week. None of the 10 was running a named golf extra places promotion on 9 September 2026.

Golf each way terms: what bookmakers actually publish
This is the section the ranking is built on. It is also the one place where every operator on this page behaves the same way.
No bookmaker publishes a standard each way term for a golf outright
None of the 10 publishes a standing each way term for a tournament outright. The term is set on each market, and the coupon header is where it lives.
The exception is Sky Bet, whose Handicap Betting section reads “Each Way 1/4 odds for 1st 3 places”. That is the handicap market, not the tournament outright, and it is the only standing term on the 10 rules pages.
1 operator says why. Spreadex’s fixed odds rulebook, rule 14, states that the fraction and places “will also vary between outright markets in sports such as football or golf”, effective 28 August 2026.
The other 9 do not explain it. They publish the term on the coupon, per market, and leave the reader to find it.
What the coupon shows and how to read it
Each way golf betting is 2 bets: 1 on the win, 1 on the place. The coupon header tells you how the place part pays, as a number of places and a fraction of the win odds.
With round numbers and no operator attached, it looks like this: “each way 1/4 odds, 5 places”. A £5 each way bet is £10 in total, and 5th place pays the place part at a quarter of the win odds.
Ties change the sum. If 3 players share the last paid place, dead heat rules split the place stake between them, and Table B shows how each operator handles that.
Which operators had a golf offer this week. None of the 10 ran a named golf extra places promotion on 9 September 2026. Sky Bet and Betfair built extra places into the outright label instead.
Check the coupon before every bet. The term on a regular tour week is not the term on a major, and not always the term on the same operator’s other markets. Only the market header has the figure.

What happens if your golfer withdraws
All 10 void an outright bet on a player who withdraws before teeing off, with 1 stated exception. After the first tee shot, 7 say the bet loses and 3 say only that it stands.

Three operators say only that bets stand
Sky Bet, William Hill and Spreadex publish “bets stand” for a player who withdraws after teeing off, and none adds that it loses. Sky Bet’s wording, read on 8 September 2026, is “If they have teed off, bets will stand”.
That is not the same as the bet being safe. A standing bet on a player who has left the course cannot win. But the page has not said it loses, and this ranking records silence as silence.
Spreadex is the odd one of the 3. Rule 11.4 says bets stand after tee off, but rule 11.8 settles a handicap outright as a loser. They cover different markets, and the rulebook does not say so.
Two operators put a condition on the withdrawal
BetMGM attaches a hole count. Clause 20.10 of its rulebook, dated 6 August 2026, treats a player who withdraws “having played at least 3 holes” as a loser. Clause 20.5 says bets stand after tee off, and the 2 disagree.
talkSPORT BET carves out the majors. Its rule voids a pre-tournament withdrawal except at the 4 majors, which are ante-post “up until the Sunday immediately before the start of the event”. A Monday withdrawal loses there and voids elsewhere.

2 ball and 3 ball betting rules compared
The 18 hole rules diverge more than the outright rules. 3 operators state a minimum in holes, 5 say only tee off, and 2 publish no trigger at all.

How many holes before the bet stands
Betfair asks for the most: “Players must complete 3 holes or more for bets to stand”. Sky Bet and talkSPORT BET ask for 1 completed hole. bet365, BetMGM, Ladbrokes, William Hill and Spreadex need only a tee shot.
Midnite and BetWright publish no trigger at all. Midnite’s section says only that a group voids if any player does not start. BetMGM’s clause 20.12 settles once a player tees off, but gives no hole count.
So a player who tees off and withdraws on the 2nd hole loses the 2 ball at bet365 and voids it at Betfair, on the same shot in the same group.
A tie priced at one book, voided at another
5 operators void a tied 2 ball where no tie price was offered: bet365, Sky Bet, BetMGM, Betfair and talkSPORT BET. Sky Bet’s wording is “in the event of a tie bets on both players will be void”.
3 promise the tie price will be there. BetWright, Ladbrokes and Spreadex each state that a price for the tie will be offered, so a level round is a third result.
William Hill settles the tie as the winning selection, so bets on both players lose. Midnite applies dead heat rules instead, which splits the stake. The same 2 scores can produce 4 different settlements across the 10.
Golf betting markets and where they go wrong
6 golf markets carry most of the money, and each has a settlement question attached to it. The table names the trap, and the paragraphs below give the operator it applies to.

Outright winner. The trophy decides it, play-off included, at all 10. The rule that matters is the withdrawal rule in Table A, and BetMGM is the only operator to put a hole count on it, in 2 clauses that disagree.
Each way. The coupon header sets the term per market, and Spreadex’s rulebook is the only one that says so. Check whether the market is the straight outright or a labelled extra places version, as at Sky Bet and Betfair.
Top 10 finish. A tie for 10th is a dead heat at 9 operators, which cuts the stake. Midnite’s page says “Ties are paid in full” on its place markets, so the same finish pays 2 ways.
2 ball. The trap is the minimum. Betfair’s 3 holes, Sky Bet’s 1 hole and bet365’s tee shot are 3 answers to when the bet is live. Cashing out is covered on our cash out betting sites page.
3 ball. Ties are dead heats wherever the rule is published. William Hill’s page settles a retiree as a loser; its 2 ball section voids the market only when both players go out on the same hole.
To make the cut. A withdrawal before the cut is a loser at Sky Bet and a missed cut at Betfair, the same result. BetMGM’s clause 20.14 says a disqualification after the cut still counts as making it.
