I spent a week testing Spreadex, and my verdict is in: it offers far more than spread betting, and its Stats Centre is the best second-screen tool I’ve found for following a match on TNT Sports.

The stats feature pops up in a multi-view window, showing live animation, an in-play match report, and pre-game H2H stats, all without leaving the dashboard. I kept TNT on the main screen and dug into the numbers on Spreadex alongside it.

What sold me early was the live streaming of all UK and Irish horse racing. You can also stream selected live sports events, including football, tennis, esports, greyhound racing, and cricket. All you need is a funded (non-zero balance) account, with no requirement to bet first.

Pros
  • Spread betting and fixed odds on one account
  • Up to £100 in World Cup free bets for just £10 stake
  • Incredibly detailed Stats Centre, perfect companion for TNT Sports broadcasts
Cons
  • Platform interface is cluttered, especially on desktop
  • No best odds guaranteed for horse racing
  • Live chat not 24/7

Is Spreadex legit? Safety, licensing & reputation

Spreadex has operated in the UK since 1999, making it one of the country’s longer-standing independent bookmakers. It is run by St Albans-based Spreadex Ltd under UKGC account number 8835, and the financial trading arm is separately regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

For dispute resolution, UK punters can use IBAS. The platform is affiliated with GamStop, GamCare, and BeGambleAware.org. It offers responsible gambling tools, including a profit-and-loss tracker, combined with standard deposit, loss, and time-out controls.

That said, the UKGC has penalised the operator twice. In August 2022, Spreadex paid a £1.36 million fine after an investigation found a customer had been allowed to deposit £1.7 million and lose £500,000 in a single month without adequate review.

A second penalty of £2 million followed in May 2025 because, among other reasons, a customer exceeded their daily deposit limit of £3,340 12 times in 14 days. After reading both cases, the first thing I did was set my own deposit limit before placing a single bet, and I’d tell any punter to do the same.

What bonuses and promotions can you claim at Spreadex?

Bonuses and promos here follow, where most markets and live streams go: football and racing. There are free bets, alongside odds boosts, acca offers, and early payouts for new and existing punters.

Spreadex World Cup offer: Sign up for up to £100 in free bets

The World Cup offer is a £100 sign-up bonus in free bets. I claimed it myself: wager a £10 fixed odds outright bet on a nation to win the 2026 World Cup and you receive three free bets straight away, as follows:

  • 1x £10 fixed odds
  • 1x £10 Total Goals spread bet
  • 1x £10 Supremacy spread bet

After that, you can land a £10 fixed odds free bet for every match your chosen nation wins during the tournament, up to seven wins. To get the spread free bets, you must have a fully approved spread betting account with Spreadex.

What promotions are available for existing customers at Spreadex?

Beyond the welcome offer, the ongoing promotions are mostly football and racing-heavy. There is no structured loyalty programme, but there’s still plenty for existing players to look forward to:

Are Spreadex betting odds any good?

I analysed the 1X2 match result market across ten opening group-stage fixtures of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Converting all odds into implied probabilities let me calculate the bookmaker margin across Spreadex, Paddy Power, and William Hill. A lower margin means better value for the punter.

Across the ten matches, Spreadex averaged a competitive 6.67% betting margin, near-level with Paddy Power’s 6.58% but far tighter than the 9.13% for William Hill. Here’s how their bookmaker margins compared on all ten fixtures:

Both Spreadex and Paddy Power keep their margins below 8% across all fixtures. The gap was most obvious to me across all three 1X2 result market outcomes for the Brazil vs Morocco match on 13 June at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey:

On this fixture, Spreadex priced Morocco at 17/4, while William Hill offered 4/1 and Paddy Power 9/2. Its real edge is the overall margin: William Hill’s is more than 3 percentage points higher than Spreadex’s, putting the site on the poor end of the odds. Our William Hill review breaks down where the bookie’s pricing falls short across other markets.

Spreadex app review: Easy access to in-play, bonuses & 25+ sports

I tested the Spreadex Sports Android app (version 4.0.5) on a Samsung Galaxy S25 throughout the five-week test period. At 11.20 MB, it downloaded and installed in around 30 seconds from Google Play, loaded in roughly 2 seconds on average, and remained stable throughout weekend matchdays without noticeable lag.

I found navigation smoother than the desktop site. The bottom bar collapses everything into five large buttons: Home, Offers, In Play, A-Z Sports, and More. From anywhere on the app, it takes one tap to reach live in-play markets, offers, and markets.

You can live-stream in two ways. Tap In Play and look for the streaming icon next to each event, or tap A-Z Sports and select Live Streaming as the first item in the list.

Biometric/fingerprint login is available and worked without issue on my Galaxy S25. The one thing that frustrated me was the live chat button, buried in the More menu alongside FAQs and Gambling Controls, making it harder to find than it should be.

The app scores well across both stores:

How can you get customer support at Spreadex? Use the freephone if it’s urgent

The platform lists five contact channels. I found live chat the most convenient during operating hours, but the telephone line is the better option if you need help outside live chat hours or want an immediate response.

I initiated my first live chat on Friday, 8 May 2026, at 4:35 pm. The chatbot connected me to a human agent (Danny) within one minute, and I had a reply within another minute, asking for proof of identity and address. Total wait: two minutes. I contacted support twice more during the test period. My average weekday wait was around two minutes; weekend waits averaged eight minutes.

Calling 01727 895 000 connected me to a live agent in roughly 90 seconds when I followed up on verification. For anything time-sensitive, I found the phone line faster and more reliable than chat.

The Help Centre looks organised but I found it difficult to use in practice. Search results frequently returned pages from the financial trading section rather than the sports betting FAQ, and there is no standalone FAQ search filter. It is not as useful as the equivalent sections at bet365 or Betfred.

Spreadex payment methods: Few but useful banking options

The bookmaker offers six deposit and six withdrawal methods, with no fees across any of them. The one thing that disappointed me was finding no e-wallets.

The good news is that all listed payment methods qualify for the welcome offer. Deposits can also be made by phone at 01727 895 000.

Which methods can I use to deposit at Spreadex?

I deposited £25 via Visa debit on 5 May 2026. The authentication process, including card details and 3D Secure verification, took less than 5 minutes.

Of the methods I tried, Visa was the fastest. Both withdrawals I made during testing cleared well inside an hour.

The second was £40 on 2 June 2026, requested at 1:44 pm. That one processed in under two minutes and cleared in 35 minutes. No fees on either occasion.

Use Spreadex’s live streaming and in-play betting alongside TNT Sports

For TNT Sports viewers, the feature I leaned on most during a broadcast was the Stats Centre. It expands into a multi-panel window showing live animation (or a live stream, where available), a match report with real-time stats, and a pre-game statistics tab for H2H records. It is only in the desktop version.

Live streaming covers around 80,000+ events per year, anchored by all UK and Irish horse and greyhound racing. You need a funded account to watch, but you do not need an active bet on the race, which I preferred to the arrangement at Betfair or NetBet.

Spreadex live streaming and in-play betting tips for TNT sports viewers
Live streaming and in-play markets running alongside a TNT Sports broadcast. Screenshot taken 24 May 2026.

Tennis streams up to ATP and WTA Challenger level. For football, streaming is available on selected lower-league matches (Italian Serie B/C, Korean K2/K3, Japan J2, Sweden Division 1), and is limited for top-flight fixtures.

For non-streamed events, what I liked was that the platform shows where to watch each fixture next to the market listing, including TNT Sports channels. Unlike William Hill and Betfred, which apply it to big matches, Spreadex applies it to around four in every five mid- and top-flight leagues.

Display of sports offerings and markets on top fixtures including international friendlies
“Where to watch” channel listings shown next to top-flight fixtures, including TNT Sports. Screenshot taken 01 June 2026.

In-play markets on top fixtures are available on bet365. Premier League matches had 300+ in-play markets available during my testing, with boosted-price markets at the top of each game page and the Acca Boost button next to them. Markets thin out quickly below the top leagues.

How does cash out work at Spreadex?

Cash out is one of the platform’s well-built features. Spreadex offers three types: one-click cash out, partial cash out, and auto cash out. That puts it ahead of most rivals, including Betfred and Coral, which typically offer only full and partial cash out.

One-click cash out works for both fixed odds and spread bets and must be enabled via the “one-click cash out” tickbox in the open bets section. Partial cash out applies to fixed odds singles and multiples only; a slider lets you choose how much of the bet to close. I tried auto cash out on a spread bet while I was away from the screen, setting a profit level at which the bet closed automatically, and it triggered exactly where I’d set it. It’s spread betting only.

Spreadex betting and options: overall take

Spreadex covers 25+ sports on its fixed-odds sportsbook alongside spread betting, putting it at the lower end of the UK market by volume (bet365 covers 46). But in my testing, few rivals matched the depth it offers in football and racing, or its unique dual-market format.

The spread betting side covers total goals, winning margins, shirt numbers, booking points, and corners across football and other sports. Losses can exceed your deposit, as the platform clearly states, and it is worth understanding the mechanics before placing spread bets with any meaningful stake.

For the mainstream fixed odds sportsbook, the core features are all present: bet builder, in-play betting, cash out, price boosts, and live streaming. As a punter whose main interests are football and racing, I found the platform covered the essentials at a level comparable to Betfred and Coral.

Football betting: early payout, bet builder, and acca boosts

The bet builder covers five sports:

  • football
  • tennis
  • basketball
  • baseball
  • horse racing (with a dedicated racing bet builder)

For football, up to twelve selections can be combined, including match result, total goals, both teams to score, double chance, winning margin, corners, handicaps, and bookings markets. I built a World Cup bet builder for England vs Croatia, combining England to win, both teams to score (yes), and over 2.5 goals, and received a combined price of 5/1.

Bet Builder pricing on England vs Croatia World Cup match
My England vs Croatia World Cup bet builder, priced at 5/1. Screenshot taken 9 June 2026.

The 2-Up early payout works identically to bet365’s 2 goals ahead offer: if your selected team goes 2 goals clear at any point in normal time, your bet is settled as a winner regardless of the final score. This applies to pre-match singles and multiples on the 2-Up Match Odds market.

Horse racing: live streaming on all UK/Irish racing from a funded account

Spreadex does not offer best odds guaranteed. BOG is available at William Hill, Betfred, and Ladbrokes, and not having it here is the one thing I miss most about racing. It makes up for this with three racing features listed on the platform: First Past The Post, 2nd To A Rag insurance, and Lucky Double Odds.

That said, the live streaming coverage for racing is the best I found among UK bookmakers by volume. All UK and Irish races stream live on the platform with a funded account; no bet on the race is needed. Overseas coverage extends to Australia, South Africa, the UAE, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, and the US, accounting for roughly 90% of international racing.

Live streaming on all UK and Irish racing, available from a funded account. Screenshot taken 01 June 2026.

Spreadex niche markets and specials

Outside football and racing, the market depth drops fast. Niche sports like handball, darts, and even ice hockey typically have only 10+ markets per event. Two niche sports caught my eye, though:

  • American football (NFL): Spreadex lists the points spread from the off, unlike most UK bookmakers. Player prop markets are available on NFL fixtures.
  • Politics: This is split between UK and US political markets. Current pricing includes “The year Keir Starmer is officially replaced as Labour leader” with 2026 at 2/11, 2027 at 23/5, and 2028 at 25/1.

Managing your Spreadex account

Signing up took about four minutes, and SpreadEx claims most users are automatically verified. I was asked to complete KYC verification before I could deposit, place a bet, or access live streaming. The platform requested two documents:

  • Proof of identity through a full driving licence or passport, and
  • Proof of address with an original bank statement PDF, council tax letter, or utility bill

I was asked to send them to info[@]spreadex.com. Verification was confirmed via email before I could proceed.

Spreadex account verification and first hand account of the step-by-step process
Account verification: proof of ID and address was requested before I could deposit. Screenshot taken 4 May 2026.

Once verified, the responsible gambling tools are available through the account settings and are clearly laid out:

  • Deposit limits: Daily, weekly, or monthly caps; reductions apply immediately; increases require a 24-hour cooling-off period
  • Loss limits: Cap total losses over a set period
  • Wagering limits: Restrict total stakes per session or period
  • Reality checks: On-screen reminders of session duration at intervals you set
  • Time-out: Account suspension from 24 hours up to 30 days; existing bets are not voided
  • Self-exclusion: Via GamStop (gamstop.co.uk), minimum 6 months
  • Profit and loss tracker: Displays net position over time across both the sportsbook and spread betting accounts

How we evaluated Spreadex

This review is based on testing (during the firs week of June 2026) using an account funded with real money. I’ve spent 9 years covering UK bookmakers, and I’ve placed bets on football, horse racing, tennis, and accumulators on both the desktop site and the Android app (Samsung Galaxy S25). Features I tested include the bet builder, Stats Centre, live streaming, cash out, and the full banking process, including two deposits and two withdrawals.

I assessed the platform across ten areas: reliability, licensing, odds quality, in-play and streaming, mobile app, bonuses, payment methods, customer support, cash out, and responsible gambling tools. This article is updated quarterly or sooner when offer terms or key features change. TNT Sports earns a commission if you register through our links. This does not affect our editorial scores.

Spreadex review: FAQs

Yes, Spreadex is a legal and safe bookmaker that has been the leading provider of spread betting alongside fixed odds sports in the UK for 25+ years. It is operated by Spreadex Ltd, headquartered in St Albans and regulated under UKGC account number 8835.

A spread is a predicted range for a specific market outcome, expressed as a Sell-Buy range. For example, Total Goals in a football match might be set at 2.8-3.0. If you think the actual total will be higher, you Buy; if you think it will be lower, you Sell. The further you are correct, the more you win per point of stake.

Spreadex does not offer live streaming of the FIFA World Cup 2026. All 104 matches are available free to air on ITV and BBC in the UK. UK punters can still follow live scores, use the Stats Centre, and bet in-play on World Cup fixtures through Spreadex.

Visa is the quickest withdrawal method. In testing, a £40 Visa withdrawal requested at 1:44 pm on 2 June 2026 cleared in 35 minutes with no fees. A second test withdrawal of £25 on 28 May cleared in 45 minutes.

The Stats Centre pops out into a multi-panel window showing live animation, in-play stats, and H2H records, functioning as a stats second-screen while you watch a match on TNT. Bet builder on football lets you combine up to twelve selections (match result, goals, BTTS, corners, and more) into a single bet before or during a match.
