BetTOM earns 6.2/10 in our independent review. The UK bookmaker has some useful horse racing concessions, including Best Odds Guaranteed and Double Result Payout, but its restrictive welcome offer, dated interface and limited specialist football markets make it harder to recommend more widely. We tested registration, the iOS app, bet-builder features and customer support.
Verification took approximately 15 minutes after submitting identification documents, while live chat responded within seconds. We also checked the bookmaker’s licence and payment limits, and compared its football odds using an earlier five-match sample.
- Fast manual verification: Our account was verified approximately 15 minutes after submitting documents.
- Responsive live chat: Customer support answered our banking question within seconds.
- Horse racing concessions: Best Odds Guaranteed and Double Result Payout provide benefits beyond standard racing markets, subject to eligibility.
- Clear deposit limits: The iOS cashier shows each method’s limits (£10 minimum, up to £5,000) before you commit, so there are no surprises mid-deposit.
- The app worked during testing, but its chunky menus and old-fashioned layout felt less polished than those of established competitors
- Restrictive welcome offer: Customers must place three qualifying bets and incur net losses to receive a free-bet refund.
- Higher football margins in our previous sample: BetTOM’s 10.46% average overround was above the comparison benchmarks.
- No insolvency protection for customer funds: Deposited balances are segregated but not protected if the operator becomes insolvent.
BetTOM review: detailed scores and ratings
Each score reflects what we could test first-hand with a BetTOM account. Anything we couldn’t verify, such as live stream playback, is left unrated.
| Criteria | Rating | What we assessed |
|---|---|---|
| Reliability | 7/10 | Launched May 2025. Trustpilot rating of approximately 3.5/5 from 400+ reviews. Registration was straightforward, with manual verification completed in approximately 15 minutes. |
| Licensing and safety | 6/10 | Active UKGC licence 64959, with no recorded regulatory actions as of October 2026. Customer funds are segregated but not protected against insolvency. |
| Welcome bonus | 5/10 | 50% of first-day net losses back as a free bet, up to £25. Requires three £10+ bets on separate events at odds of 2.0+, plus at least £10 in net losses. Seven-day expiry. |
| Odds/margins | 5/10 | Average 1X2 overround of 10.46% across five Premier League fixtures in our previous comparison, versus 8.43% at Betfair and 7.47% at Betano. |
| Mobile app | 5/10 | iOS rated 2.8/5 from 18 reviews. Tested on iPhone 18 Pro in October 2026. Navigation and bet slip worked without obvious issues, but the interface felt outdated. |
| Customer service | 9/10 | Live chat responded within seconds and confirmed fee-free deposits and withdrawals. Available seven days a week, 9am–8:45pm UK time, but not 24/7. |
| Payment methods | 6/10 | Instant bank transfer, Visa/Mastercard and Apple Pay. £10 minimum deposit, maximum £5,000 via Apple Pay. No operator fees reported, but deposits and withdrawals weren’t completed during testing. |
| Bet builder | 5/10 | Tested using Tottenham vs Coventry. Basic markets were available, but no fouls-won selection was found, and anytime goalscorer and assist selections couldn’t be combined. |
| Horse racing | 8/10 | Best Odds Guaranteed from 10am on eligible UK/Irish horse and greyhound races, subject to a £100-per-bet cap. Double Result Payout concession with a published maximum daily benefit of £5,000. |
| Live betting/streaming | Not rated | Live racing streams were advertised and visible in the app, but playback wasn’t verified. In-play odds update speeds were also not tested. |
| Overall rating | 6.2/10 | BetTOM is a reasonable choice for racing bettors, with useful concessions and responsive support. Its dated interface, restrictive welcome offer, relatively high football margins and limited bet builder prevent a stronger recommendation. |

About BetTOM
BetTOM is an independently operated UK sportsbook and casino launched in late May 2025. Its parent company, Bet Tom Limited, was incorporated in October 2023 and is registered in Uckfield, East Sussex.
The bookmaker uses EveryMatrix technology to power its betting platform, including a proprietary horse racing solution. That racing focus is really the main selling point, and it’s why BetTOM features among our best horse racing betting sites despite launching so recently. The operator offers Best Odds Guaranteed on eligible UK and Irish races, alongside other concessions designed for regular racing bettors.
EveryMatrix confirmed its partnership with BetTOM in July 2025, having helped develop the platform ahead of its launch.
Is BetTOM legit and safe?
Yes. BetTOM is a legitimate UK bookmaker, licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission under account number 64959. Bet Tom Limited’s licence has been active since 20 September 2024 and covers sports betting, virtual betting, casino and bingo.
We checked the UKGC public register during our October 2026 review. The company name, trading name and domain all match the regulator’s records, and there are no recorded regulatory actions against the operator.
The main drawback is fund protection. BetTOM’s cashier confirms that customer deposits are held separately from company money at the Co-operative Bank, but they wouldn’t be protected if Bet Tom Limited became insolvent. That places it in the UKGC’s “not protected” category, below medium and high protection.
On Trustpilot, BetTOM holds around 3.5/5 from more than 400 reviews. Customers tend to praise payments and support, while complaints focus on betting restrictions and account closures. These are individual reports rather than independently verified findings.
Who owns BetTOM?
BetTOM is operated by Bet Tom Limited, with Paul Colley serving as a director and chief executive.
Companies House identifies Susan Claire Head as the company’s person with significant control, holding more than 50% but less than 75% of its shares and voting rights.
BetTOM welcome offer: how does the first-day refund work?
New BetTOM customers can receive 50% of their net first-day sportsbook losses back as a free bet, up to £25.
While this sounds relatively straightforward, there are several qualifying conditions:
- Register a new BetTOM account and complete any required verification.
- Deposit money and place at least three bets of £10 or more.
- Each qualifying bet must be on a separate sporting event, at minimum odds of evens (2.0).
- Finish the first day with net settled losses of at least £10.
- Receive 50% of those losses back as a free bet, capped at £25, credited within 24 hours and valid for seven days.
The refund is calculated using qualifying stakes settled before 23:59 on your first day, minus returns, so a late-evening start leaves very little time to qualify. Your first day starts when you make your first deposit, not when you register. No promotional code is required.

Is the BetTOM welcome offer worth It?
BetTOM’s welcome offer refunds 50% of eligible first-day net losses as a free bet, capped at £25. That means recording £20 in qualifying net losses earns a £10 free bet, while receiving the full £25 requires £50 in qualifying net losses.
There are several restrictions to consider. Customers must place at least three bets of £10 or more on separate events at minimum odds of evens (2.0). Finishing the first day level or in profit means no refund, and any awarded free bet expires after seven days. The reward isn’t withdrawable cash, and the free-bet stake isn’t returned with winnings.
Compared with sign-up offers that award free bets after a single qualifying wager, BetTOM’s promotion is more complicated and less predictable. On balance, we consider it a relatively weak welcome offer, which is reflected in our 5/10 bonus rating.
The requirement to place three separate qualifying bets makes this a relatively restrictive welcome promotion. It’s considerably less straightforward than the bet-and-get deals in our best betting sign up offers guide, where a single qualifying bet unlocks the free bets.
At best, the maximum promotional value is modest, and qualifying depends on losing money. We wouldn’t consider this a strong selling point.
BetTOM sportsbook: markets and features
BetTOM covers the major sports expected of a UK bookmaker, including football, horse racing, tennis and American sports.
During our testing, we found that navigating the sportsbook was straightforward on both desktop and mobile. Categories were accessible, markets loaded without any noticeable problems and placing selections into the bet slip presented no obvious difficulties.
However, the platform’s visual design feels noticeably behind the times. Its blue-and-white interface, traditional navigation and fairly basic presentation are reminiscent of an old-fashioned high-street bookmaker.
That isn’t necessarily a deal-breaker. An uncomplicated sportsbook can be preferable to one overloaded with menus and promotional banners.
Nevertheless, BetTOM’s bet builder lacked some specialist football markets on the Tottenham vs Coventry fixture we tested, such as fouls won.
How competitive are BetTOM’s football odds?
Not very, based on our earlier sample. BetTOM’s average 1X2 overround was 10.46%, compared with 8.43% at Betfair and 7.47% at Betano.
Those figures come from our best new betting sites comparison, which recorded match-result odds on five Premier League matchday 1 fixtures. Betfair’s 8.43% in that sample is tighter than the 12.49% Premier League average our Betfair review recorded, so margins can swing between samples.
| Bookmaker | Average 1X2 overround |
|---|---|
| Betano | 7.47% |
| Betfair | 8.43% |
| BetTOM | 10.46% |
A lower overround generally indicates more favourable pricing for bettors across the market.
In this particular sample, BetTOM’s margins were noticeably higher than those of its competitors.
Important: These figures come from TNT Sports’ existing five-match analysis, not a fresh odds test conducted on 19 October. They represent a historical snapshot, and odds will change between fixtures and throughout the betting market.
Does BetTOM have a bet builder?
Yes. We tested BetTOM’s football bet builder using the Tottenham vs Coventry fixture on 19 October 2026.
The available markets covered the usual selections, but the range of specialist football markets was limited.
In particular, we couldn’t find a fouls won market for the fixture.
It’s a relatively minor omission for someone who sticks to goals, cards and match results, but more experienced bettors who build accumulators around individual player statistics may find the selection restrictive.
We also found an issue when combining an anytime goalscorer market with an anytime assist market. Namely, it’s not allowed. Again, for some punters that’s not an issue. For us, it’s a bit of a deal-breaker when deciding where we’re going to place our bet builders.
We didn’t encounter any technical problems constructing a bet slip, although we didn’t end up placing a real-money wager.

Horse racing: best odds guaranteed and other offers
Horse racing is where BetTOM becomes a more interesting proposition.
Its existing racing concessions include Best Odds Guaranteed from 10am on UK and Irish horse and greyhound racing, capped at £100 per bet, plus a Double Result Payout promotion covering qualifying race winners.
Best Odds Guaranteed means customers receive the starting price if it is bigger than the early price they accepted, subject to promotional conditions and benefit caps. Paddy Power starts its BOG at 8am, as our Paddy Power review found, so BetTOM’s 10 am start matters for early-morning bets.
BetTOM’s racing promotions also include a Double Result Payout concession. This can pay eligible win bets on both the horse finishing first past the post and the subsequently declared winner if the result changes.
The published promotional descriptions indicate a maximum daily Double Result benefit of £5,000, with exclusions for certain types of disqualification and bets.
These are definitely more interesting benefits than its standard football betting features.

Live streaming and in-play betting
BetTOM advertises live racing streaming, and we found streaming options visible when browsing the iOS app.
However, we couldn’t establish whether a stream would launch successfully because our account wasn’t funded.
We therefore can’t make a definitive claim about stream quality, reliability or whether additional qualifying conditions apply.
The platform also provides dedicated live sports navigation, although we didn’t conduct a timed test of its in-play odds updates.
BetTOM app: our hands-on preview
We downloaded and tested the BetTOM iOS app on an iPhone 18 Pro in October 2026.
Our first impression was that the interface looked considerably older than the app itself. Its chunky navigation, basic menus and traditional sportsbook layout were definitely giving a 90s Bermondsey high-street bookie vibe. Without the smell of second-hand smoke and regret.
Fortunately, appearances weren’t reflected in its functionality.
We were able to navigate between sports, open betting markets, build selections and access our account without encountering any obvious technical difficulties.
The desktop website delivered a very similar experience.
The current UK App Store rating stands at 2.8/5 from 18 ratings, which is underwhelming, although the relatively small sample makes it difficult to draw firm conclusions about overall reliability.
Our experience was probably more positive than that rating might suggest.
There’s clearly room for improvement in how BetTOM presents its sportsbook, but its outdated appearance didn’t interfere with the basic tasks we tested.
How to register and verify your BetTOM account
- Open BetTOM’s website or app and begin registration.
- Enter the required personal information and submit the registration form.
- Check your email for any identity-verification request, including the spam folder.
- If requested, submit the necessary identification documents and await approval.
During our October 2026 test, BetTOM couldn’t verify our account automatically. Its request for supporting documents initially went to our spam folder. Once we submitted the documents, verification took approximately 15 minutes.
That’s pretty speedy, particularly given that manual identity checks can sometimes cause lengthy delays.
The additional verification step was inconvenient, but the turnaround was considerably better than expected.
How to deposit at BetTOM
- Log into your BetTOM account.
- Select Deposit in the app.
- Choose instant bank transfer, Visa/Mastercard or Apple Pay.
- Check the minimum and maximum deposit limits displayed for your chosen method.
- Enter your amount and follow the cashier’s on-screen instructions.
We accessed the BetTOM cashier through the iOS app and checked the available payment methods and limits.
Three options were displayed: instant bank transfer, debit card and Apple Pay. If you stake larger amounts, Apple Pay’s £5,000 ceiling is the most flexible, more than double the £2,000 cap on instant bank transfer.
| Payment method | Minimum deposit | Maximum deposit |
|---|---|---|
| Instant Bank Transfer | £10 | £2,000 |
| Visa/Mastercard | £10 | £4,000 |
| Apple Pay | £10 | £5,000 |
To access the deposit options, customers can log in, select the Deposit button and choose their preferred payment method.
The cashier clearly displays the relevant minimum and maximum amounts before proceeding.
We also contacted customer support to clarify whether the bookmaker charges deposit fees. The agent confirmed that no fees apply.
However, we didn’t complete a deposit, so we can’t comment on actual payment processing times.
How to withdraw funds from BetTOM
- Sign into a verified BetTOM account.
- Click your account icon on the top right
- Scroll to withdrawal and click
- Choose a withdrawal method
- Enter the amount you wish to withdraw and confirm
Withdrawals are fee-free, according to BetTOM’s live chat, but you’ll need verified ID on file before you can request one. We’d already cleared this during registration.
We didn’t fund the account or request a withdrawal.
Consequently, we can’t provide a personally verified withdrawal time.
BetTOM customer support: our experience
Customer support was one of the strongest aspects of our BetTOM review.
We contacted the operator through live chat to ask whether any deposit or withdrawal fees applied. An agent responded within seconds, confirming that neither transaction type attracts fees from BetTOM. The response was clear, relevant and answered our question without requiring additional explanation.
We also confirmed that live chat operates from 9am until 8:45pm UK time, seven days a week. Although these hours fall short of round-the-clock support, the response speed during our test was impressive.Unlike the mobile interface, which feels somewhat dated, the customer service experience made a distinctly positive impression.
Responsible gambling at BetTOM
BetTOM operates under UKGC regulations and is available only to customers aged 18 or over. Its published account information includes tools for managing gambling activity, such as deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion.
Customers can also register with GAMSTOP to self-exclude from participating licensed online gambling operators. Free, confidential support is available from GamCare and the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133.
Gambling should never be treated as a way to earn money or recover financial losses.
Is BetTOM the right choice for you?
We rate BetTOM 6.2/10. It’s worth considering if you bet mainly on UK and Irish racing, but not if bet builders and football prices are your priority.
Our registration and customer support testing produced positive results. Verification was completed within 15 minutes, the support team answered our question almost immediately, and we encountered no significant navigation problems on desktop or mobile.
Nevertheless, the dated interface, limited selection of specialist bet-builder markets and relatively high football margins in our previous comparison prevent us from recommending it ahead of established football-focused bookmakers.
Choose BetTOM if Best Odds Guaranteed and Double Result Payout matter to you. Look elsewhere if you build detailed football bet builders, or if you want your balance protected should the operator become insolvent.
