The BetTOM sign up offer gives new customers 50% of their first-day sportsbook losses back as a free bet, up to £25. You’ll need to place at least three £10 bets on separate events at odds of evens (2.0) or greater, and finish your first day with a net loss of at least £10 to qualify.

We registered with BetTOM to test the sign-up and verification process, which included an unexpected request for identification documents. Below, we’ll explain how the welcome offer works, what you need to qualify, and whether it’s worth choosing over other UK bookmakers.

BetTOM sign up offer: what new customers get

BetTOM’s welcome offer differs from the traditional bet-and-get deals in our best betting sign up offers guide, where a single qualifying bet unlocks a fixed reward. Instead of receiving a fixed reward for placing a qualifying bet, you’ll get half of your first-day net losses refunded as a free bet, capped at £25.

Here’s an overview of the current promotion:

The main thing to know is that BetTOM’s £25 free bet isn’t guaranteed, even if you place all three qualifying bets.

BetTom welcome offer

For example, let’s say you place three £10 singles at evens and all three lose. Your total net loss would be £30, earning you a £15 free bet.

If your net losses reached £50, you’d receive the maximum £25 reward. However, if your bets finished in profit, you wouldn’t receive any welcome bonus.

It’s a less straightforward proposition than offers that reward customers regardless of whether their first bet wins or loses.

How to claim the BetTOM sign up offer in 8 steps

We registered through the BetTOM iOS app on 19 October 2026. Completing the registration form was straightforward, although BetTOM couldn’t automatically verify our identity and subsequently requested additional documents.

The verification email landed in our spam folder, but once we submitted the documents, BetTOM approved the account within approximately 15 minutes.

Here’s how to register and claim the welcome offer:

  1. Visit BetTOM: Follow the promotional link on this page and select ‘Join Now’ to begin registration.
  2. Create your account: Enter your personal information, including your name, address, date of birth and contact details.
  3. Complete verification: BetTOM may request additional identification documents. During our test, verification was completed approximately 15 minutes after uploading them.
  4. Make your first deposit: Open the cashier and deposit using an available payment method. The minimum displayed during our testing was £10. Remember, making your first deposit starts the qualifying period.
  5. Place three qualifying bets: Stake at least £10 on three separate sporting events, each at odds of evens (2.0) or greater.
  6. Wait for your bets to settle: Only bets settled before 23:59 on your first day contribute to the calculation of your net losses.
  7. Receive your free bet: If your net losses total at least £10 and you’ve met the other conditions, BetTOM credits 50% of those losses as a free bet, up to £25.
  8. Use your reward: You have seven days to use the free bet before it expires.

Our experience with account verification was ultimately positive, particularly the 15-minute turnaround after submitting the documents. However, we’d recommend checking your spam folder if the initial verification email doesn’t arrive.

We completed the registration and identity verification stages but didn’t deposit funds or claim the welcome bonus. The qualifying requirements and reward conditions above are taken directly from BetTOM’s published terms.

Is there a BetTOM promo code?

No, you don’t need a BetTOM promo code to claim the current welcome offer.

BetTOM specifically states that customers shouldn’t enter a bonus code when making their first deposit. The promotion is applied automatically once you’ve met the qualifying conditions, so there’s no separate code to enter or copy.

BetTOM sign up offer terms and conditions

The biggest restriction with the BetTOM sign up offer is the short qualifying window. Your first day begins when you make your initial deposit and ends at 23:59 that evening, rather than giving you a full 24 hours.

This means depositing late at night leaves relatively little time for your qualifying bets to settle.

Here are the main terms to consider before registering:

  • New customers only: The promotion is restricted to new BetTOM customers aged 18 or over.
  • Minimum qualifying bets: You must place at least three bets of £10 or more on separate sporting events.
  • Minimum odds: Each qualifying bet must be placed at odds of evens (2.0) or greater.
  • Minimum losses: Your first-day net losses must total at least £10 to receive a reward.
  • Maximum reward: BetTOM refunds 50% of qualifying net losses as a free bet, up to £25.
  • Settlement deadline: Only settled stakes and returns before 23:59 on your first day count towards the loss calculation.
  • Sportsbook only: Casino bets don’t contribute towards the sportsbook welcome offer.
  • Free bet expiry: The reward must be used in full within seven days of being credited.
  • Free bet winnings: The free bet stake isn’t returned with winnings, and the bonus itself cannot be withdrawn as cash. Winnings from the free bet are paid as withdrawable cash, with no wagering requirements.
  • Household restrictions: The offer is limited to one per person, family, household, email address, IP address, telephone number and payment account.
  • Promo code: No bonus code should be entered when making your first deposit.

It’s worth knowing how BetTOM calculates your losses.

It uses your total settled stakes minus your total returns, rather than simply counting how many individual bets lose.

For example, if you placed three £10 bets at evens and won one, your total stakes would be £30 against £20 in returns. That leaves a £10 net loss and qualifies you for a £5 free bet, assuming the other conditions have been met.

There’s also no benefit to deliberately increasing your stakes to maximise the bonus. Even if you lose considerably more than £50, the maximum refund remains £25 in free bet credit.

Full conditions are available on BetTom’s official welcome offer page.

BetTOM payment methods for the sign up offer

During our testing, BetTOM displayed three deposit options in its cashier: Instant Bank Transfer, Visa/Mastercard and Apple Pay.

All three displayed a £10 minimum deposit, although their maximum transaction limits differed.

Payment methodMinimum depositMaximum depositProcessing time
Instant Bank Transfer£10£2,000Typically instant*
Visa/Mastercard£10£4,000Typically instant*
Apple Pay£10£5,000Typically instant*

BetTOM states that most deposit methods are processed instantly. We verified the available methods and deposit limits but did not independently test their processing times. We were able to confirm with live chat that no payment methods are excluded from the welcome bonus, which is a plus.

The available payment methods are fewer than those offered by some larger UK bookies. During our testing, we couldn’t find PayPal, Skrill or Neteller listed in the cashier.

However, having Instant Bank Transfer and Apple Pay alongside conventional debit cards does at least give customers an alternative to entering their card details directly.

We also contacted BetTOM’s customer support team to clarify its payment fees. An agent responded within seconds and confirmed that BetTOM doesn’t charge fees for deposits or withdrawals.

BetTOM existing customer promotions

While the BetTOM welcome offer is relatively restrictive, the bookmaker has two ongoing promotions that may appeal to horse racing bettors.

These are Best Odds Guaranteed and Double Result Payout, both of which provide benefits beyond the initial sign-up period.

BetTOM best odds guaranteed

BetTOM offers Best Odds Guaranteed on eligible UK and Irish horse racing, with coverage also advertised for greyhound racing.

This means that if you place a qualifying bet at a fixed price and the Starting Price (SP) is higher, BetTOM pays your winnings at the bigger price.

For example, if you back a horse at 5/1 and its SP drifts to 7/1, Best Odds Guaranteed means your winning bet is settled at 7/1.

The main restrictions include:

  • Applies to eligible UK and Irish racing bets placed from 10am GMT on the day of the race.
  • Available on qualifying singles and multiples.
  • Maximum additional benefit of £100 per bet.
  • Ante-post bets, special markets and international racing are excluded.
  • Standard Rule 4 deductions still apply.

There’s no requirement to manually activate Best Odds Guaranteed, although BetTOM reserves the right to restrict eligibility.

For regular racing bettors, this is arguably a stronger reason to consider BetTOM than its initial welcome offer.

BetTOM BOG

BetTOM double result payout

BetTOM’s Double Result Payout promotion applies to eligible UK and Irish horse racing bets.

If a horse finishes first but is subsequently demoted following a stewards’ inquiry before the official weigh-in, BetTOM can pay winning bets on both the first horse past the post and the eventual official winner.

The promotion covers qualifying win singles, multiples and the win portion of each-way bets.

However, there are restrictions:

  • Maximum benefit of £5,000 per customer per calendar day.
  • Tote, ante-post, forecast and tricast bets are excluded.
  • The place portion of each-way bets isn’t covered.
  • Certain disqualifications, including carrying the wrong weight or taking the wrong course, are excluded.

It won’t make much difference to football bettors, but it’s a useful concession for customers who regularly wager on horse racing.

How does BetTOM’s offer compare to other bookmakers?

BetTOM’s loss-based welcome offer stands out from the more conventional promotions available at competing UK betting sites.

However, being different doesn’t necessarily make it better, which is a generational lesson which should be taught to everyone.

We compared the current BetTOM welcome offer against three established bookmakers to see how the qualification requirements and maximum rewards stack up.

BookmakerWelcome offerMinimum depositQualifying requirement
BetTOM50% of first-day losses back, up to £25£103 x £10 bets at 2.0+, minimum £10 net loss
BetfredBet £10, get £50 in free bets£10£10 bet at 2.0+
Paddy PowerBet £5, get £40 in free bets£5£5 qualifying bet
CoralBet £5, get £30 in free bets£5£5 bet at 1.5+

The differences are pretty substantial. The Betfred promo code offer pays twice BetTOM’s maximum bonus value from a single £10 qualifying bet. The Paddy Power sign up offer and the Coral sign up offer both pay more from a £5 stake, with Coral asking for odds of just 1/2.

More importantly, these alternatives don’t require customers to finish their first day with a net loss to receive their bonuses.

BetTOM’s approach means customers could place three qualifying bets, win all three and receive nothing beyond their normal winnings. At that point it doesn’t end up being much of an incentive, does it?

For anyone primarily interested in maximising the value of their welcome bonus, we think the alternatives above make an objectively stronger case.

BetTOM sign up offer: pros and cons

The BetTOM sign up offer isn’t particularly difficult to understand, but the combination of minimum qualifying bets, odds requirements and the loss-based reward creates limitations worth considering.

Pros
  • No promo code required: The offer applies automatically once you meet the qualifying conditions, without entering a bonus code.
  • Free bet credited within 24 hours: Eligible customers don’t have to wait multiple days for their reward.
  • Available across sportsbook markets: The promotion isn’t restricted to a single sporting competition, although all three qualifying bets must be on separate events.
  • Seven-day redemption window: Customers have a week to use their free bet once credited.
Cons
  • £25 maximum reward: The cap is lower than the £30–£50 welcome offers available at Betfred, Coral and Paddy Power.
  • Requires three qualifying bets: Customers must stake at least £30 across three separate events, rather than placing a single £5 or £10 bet.
  • Only rewards losing customers: Even after meeting the betting requirements, customers receive nothing if their first-day bets finish in profit.
  • Restrictive deadline: Bets must settle before 23:59 on the day of the first deposit to count towards the loss calculation.
  • Refund isn’t cash: The reward arrives as non-withdrawable free bet credit, with the original stake excluded from any returns.

Is the BetTOM sign up offer worth claiming?

We think the BetTOM sign up offer is difficult to recommend over the strongest welcome bonuses currently available at established UK bookmakers. Although the prospect of getting 50% of your losses back sounds appealing, the £25 maximum reward and requirement to place three qualifying bets make it less accessible than traditional bet-and-get promotions.

That said, BetTOM has other qualities worth considering. Our registration experience was straightforward once the identification requirements were resolved, and its ongoing Best Odds Guaranteed and Double Result Payout promotions could appeal to regular horse racing bettors.

If you’re primarily interested in claiming a welcome bonus, we’d favour the offers from Betfred or Paddy Power. However, if you’re already considering BetTOM for its racing features, the loss-back promotion provides a limited additional benefit on qualifying first-day bets.

BetTOM’s mobile app, betting markets and customer support are covered separately in our full review.
