Erling Haaland is the 4/6 favourite to win the Premier League Golden Boot once again after doing so for a third time in four years last season.
The Manchester City striker scored 27 goals in 2025/26 to reclaim the award after missing out the previous year, and the likes of Alexander Isak (9/1) and Igor Thiago (12/1) are expected to be his closest challengers this campaign in terms of odds from our selected bookmakers.
The table below compares prices on eight leading contenders across bet365, BetMGM, Ladbrokes, William Hill and Betfred, and is checked and updated weekly.

Who are the favourites to be Premier League top scorer?
Erling Haaland
Erling Haaland is unsurprisingly the favourite with our selected bookmakers to finish as the Premier League top scorer once again.
He is almost always available for Man City, playing in 35 league games last season, and very rarely gets substituted off.
Only Omar Marmoush is real competition for Haaland in the striker position, but the Egypt international has been strongly linked with a move to Tottenham, so the Norwegian is likely to see plenty more minutes in a Man City shirt.
He did lack sharpness in the Community Shield off the back of a demanding World Cup, so it will be interesting to see whether he can hit the ground running as he usually does at the start of a Premier League season.
Current price range: 8/13 (William Hill) to 4/6 (bet365, BetMGM, Ladbrokes, Betfred). Best available: 4/6 bet365, BetMGM, Ladbrokes, Betfred.
Alexander Isak
After his British-record £125m move from Newcastle United last summer, much was expected of Alexander Isak when he joined the then-Premier League champions Liverpool.
However, with the transfer dragging on until the deadline and a lack of pre-season, the Sweden international first struggled to adapt to life at Anfield.
Injuries also severely hampered Isak’s progress, limiting him to just 14 appearances in the Premier League for the Reds, scoring only three goals.
However, there is no doubting his ability having netted 23 goals in 34 league appearances for Newcastle in 2024/25, and should he be able to keep himself fit for the whole season, he is the player that will most likely challenge Haaland for the Golden Boot.
Current price range: 8/1 (bet365, Ladbrokes, William Hill) to 9/1 (Betfred). Best available: 9/1 Betfred. Also, check out our Betfred betting site review.
Igor Thiago
Igor Thiago finished as runner-up to Haaland in the Golden Boot race last season, scoring 22 goals for Brentford.
A significant chunk of them were penalties, but should the Bees win a similar amount of spot-kicks in this campaign, then Thiago is reliable when he steps up to take them.
Unlike a lot of other teams in the Premier League, Brentford have a settled squad and manager in Keith Andrews, which gives them an immediate advantage in terms of hitting the ground running for the new season.
The Bees were free-scoring in pre-season, notably hitting Eintracht Frankfurt for seven, so Thiago could be there or thereabouts again in terms of being the Premier League top scorer.
Current price range: 11/1 (Betfred) to 12/1 (bet365, BetMGM, Ladbrokes, William Hill). Best available: 12/1 bet365, BetMGM, Ladbrokes, William Hill.
Joao Pedro
Unlike Thiago, Joao Pedro was not picked for Brazil in their World Cup squad, which means he has had a summer off.
This could give him a major advantage over other candidates, as he will be fully fit and ready to go for the new season.
Pedro has also scored plenty of goals for Chelsea in pre-season, which always bodes well in terms of his potential early form.
With the Blues not playing in Europe either, the forward will be able to fully focus on scoring goals in the Premier League.
Current price range: 12/1 (William Hill) to 14/1 (bet365, BetMGM, Ladbrokes, Betfred). Best available: 14/1 bet365, BetMGM, Ladbrokes, Betfred.
Ollie Watkins
Ollie Watkins is a consistent goalscorer in the Premier League, notching up double figures in each of his six seasons in the top flight.
He netted 16 times for Aston Villa in 37 appearances last season, showing he is very much first choice when fit.
However, Watkins has been strongly linked with a potential move to the Saudi Pro League before the transfer window shuts, so that is something to keep an eye on.
Villa have lost key players like Morgan Rogers and Youri Tielemans too, so it is unclear whether they will be able to hit the same heights as previous campaigns.
Current price range: 14/1 (Ladbrokes) to 25/1 (bet365, William Hill). Best available: 25/1 bet365, William Hill.
Other contenders
Viktor Gyokeres (20/1) is one to watch if he can cement a starting spot at Arsenal ahead of Kai Havertz, while Cole Palmer (33/1) and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (50/1) are very much outside picks.
Premier League top scorer prediction / betting tip
- Our pick: Erling Haaland
- Best odds: bet365, BetMGM, Ladbrokes, Betfred
- Current goals: 0
- Why he appeals: Haaland has won three of the last four Golden Boots, is almost always available and has little competition for his starting place.
- Main risk: Haaland has not had the summer off, Man City are not as strong as previous seasons and of course, injuries would cut into his minutes.
How does Premier League Golden Boot betting work?
A Premier League top scorer bet is on the player who finishes with the most goals in the top flight.
Bookmakers may settle according to their own rules, so readers should check terms.
If players finish level on goals, some bookmakers may use dead-heat rules, while the official FIFA Golden Boot uses tie-breakers such as assists and minutes played.

What matters when betting on Premier League top scorer odds?
- Team progression: Stronger teams naturally create more chances for their main goal-getters to score from.
- Penalty duties: Penalty takers have a major edge.
- Minutes security: Avoid players likely to be rotated or substituted early, or those not guaranteed as starters in the first place.
- Fixture difficulty: Weaker opponents can create early scoring spikes, and confidence can play a big part in a forward’s season.
- Current goal tally: Live bettors should not ignore goals already banked.
- Assists / tie-break rules: Relevant if betting on official Golden Boot rather than bookmaker dead-heat settlement.
- Injuries and suspensions: Availability is the best ability. A player who rarely misses games through injury or suspension is usually a safer bet than an injury-prone or ill-disciplined one.
