Sergej Jakirovic's Hull are 11th after drawing five of their first nine league games, and they travel to the Emirates Stadium without a win in their last five.

Arsenal's only league defeat so far was a 3-0 defeat at Brighton on 19 September, and they have won four league games in a row since.

The latest of those was a 1-0 win at Liverpool on 1 November, a result that took Arsenal to 24 points from nine games.

Midweek brought a 2-1 win at Slavia Prague in the Champions League, with Noni Madueke scoring early before Konsa came off with a knee problem.

Their last five games in all competitions also include a 2-2 draw at Bayern Munich and a 1-1 draw at Fleetwood on 27 October that ended in a League Cup penalty shootout defeat.

At the Emirates Stadium Arsenal have won all four league games and conceded only twice, which gives Mikel Arteta a settled platform even with changes at the back.

Expected goals back up the table, with Arsenal's total of 15.7 sitting above the 14 they have actually scored, so there is no sign that their finishing has been lucky.

Without Bukayo Saka, Madueke and Christos Tzolis started on the wings at Liverpool, with Kai Havertz up front and Martin Odegaard in between.

Hull are back in the top flight for the first time since their relegation in 2017, having beaten Middlesbrough in the play-off final at Wembley.

They have drawn five of their nine league games, a tally that Brentford and Leeds also have, and four of those five draws came at home.

Hull are winless in their last five games, with three draws and two defeats, and they have conceded eight goals without a clean sheet over that run.

Away from home Hull have won once, at Coventry, drawn once, at Chelsea, and lost twice, at Newcastle and Fulham.

Mohamed Belloumi has scored two of Hull's four league goals on the road, while Oli McBurnie is one yellow card away from a suspension.

After the 2-2 draw with Ipswich, in which they had trailed, Jakirovic's view was that not losing matters when winning is out of reach.

Bukayo Saka is out with a left thigh injury suffered in the 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich on 21 October, with a return projected for early December.

Max Dowman is serving the second game of a three-match ban after his red card in the League Cup at Fleetwood on 27 October, and Arsenal's appeal was rejected.

Konsa is a doubt after coming off in Prague, where Cristhian Mosquera replaced him, and Arteta said afterwards that “he had some issues and we decided to take him off”.

William Saliba has recovered from a back problem, trained fully this week and was on the bench in Prague, with Arteta saying he is ready to play.

Riccardo Calafiori, Declan Rice, Madueke and Tzolis are all fit after earlier doubts, and each of them started at Liverpool.

Matt Crooks is suspended for one match after collecting a fifth yellow card in the 2-2 draw with Ipswich on 31 October.

Darko Gyabi and Charlie Hughes are both out with groin injuries until late November, while Matt Targett is not expected back from an ankle problem until mid-December.

Eliot Matazo is out until early February with a cruciate ligament injury, and Lucas Gourna-Douath is expected to miss out with a calf problem.

Jack Butland is back in full training after an elbow injury that needed surgery and played 90 minutes for the under-21s, but Konstantinos Tzolakis remains first choice in goal.

Hull are expected to name the same XI that drew with Ipswich, which leaves Tim Iroegbunam and Regan Slater in the middle of a thin midfield.

26 meetings, goals 54-22 to Arsenal
Last meeting: 11 February 2017, Premier League, Emirates Stadium, Arsenal 2-0 Hull City
No meetings in the last five years

Arsenal have won 18 of the 26 meetings between the sides, with Hull winning three and five games drawn, and the goals read 54-22 in Arsenal's favour.

The last meeting was a 2-0 Premier League win for Arsenal on 11 February 2017, and the game before that, in September 2016, was a 4-1 Arsenal win at Hull.

Hull's last league win over Arsenal was 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium in September 2008, while Arsenal won the 2014 FA Cup final between the clubs 3-2.

Arteta and Jakirovic have never faced each other as managers, so this fixture comes with little recent evidence either way.

Our Arsenal vs Hull City prediction and betting tips

These four selections are judgements that can lose, and readers wanting further picks for the weekend can find betting tips from our team.

Top Tip
Arsenal to win to nil
Odds 1.73
Arsenal have kept clean sheets in two of their four home league games, while Hull average one goal per away league game. On home form alone that makes a shutout close to a coin flip, so the pick relies on the 13-point gap between the sides and a Hull midfield weakened by Crooks' suspension.
Value Bet
Under 3.5 goals
Odds 1.62
None of Arsenal's nine league games this season has produced more than three goals, and Hull's four away league games have averaged 2.25 per game. Hull's two 2-2 draws show the line can be stretched, but the evidence from both sides points to a match that stays inside it.
Longshot
Correct score: Arsenal 2-0 Hull City
Odds 6.50
Arsenal average 2.25 goals in their four home league games, while Hull concede 1.25 per away game and have kept one clean sheet in four on the road. That profile fits a home win by two clear goals with no reply, although an exact score is always a narrow target.
Free Choice
Arsenal to score first
Odds 1.22
Arsenal have scored four of their nine home league goals in the first half, while Hull have managed two first-half goals in four away league games. That gap and the five goals Hull have conceded on their travels favour Arsenal to open the scoring, although the 1.22 price leaves little margin for error.

Odds correct as of Thursday, 5 November 2026, 3pm GMT.

Our prediction
Arsenal 2-0 Hull City
Arsenal's expected goals total of 15.7 is well clear of Hull's 9.2, so the underlying numbers back a comfortable home win. Hull are missing four midfielders through suspension, injury or doubt, which should give Declan Rice and Bruno Guimaraes room to control the game.
  • Kai Havertz to score, having netted two of Arsenal's nine home league goals
  • Martin Odegaard to score, also on two home league goals
