TEAM NEWS: AC Milan - Abbiatti, De Sciglio, Zapata, Bonera, Constant, Montolivo, De Jong, Muntari, Kaka, El Shaarawy, Balotelli. /// Ajax - Cillsessen, Van Rhjn, Moisander, Denswil, Blind, Klaasen, Poulsen, Serero, Schone, Bojan, Fischer.
For Ajax only a win will do. They are guaranteed of Europa League football at least after Christmas but if they can clinch three points at the San Siro they will progress to the last 16 for the first time since 2005-06.
For all their struggles in Serie A Milan have actually been in good form in the Champions League of late, winning their last game 3-0 away to Celtic. However the last time the Rossoneri won back to back games in the Champions League was 2011.
Ajax coach Frank de Boer: "We have prepared as we do for all our games. Obviously there is tension and some younger players may feel more of that tension, but this pressure has to become a positive."
Milan coach Max Allegri: "We are making good progress in terms of results. The game is crucial and we will approach it in a determined manner. A draw will be enough for us but our aim is to win. The stakes are very high so we'll need to concentrate. We can't afford to play for a draw."
Pre-match odds: AC Milan 4/6, Draw 13/5, Ajax 9/2.
