Since coming on Hoesen has done very little. Instead of playing three up front they've moved Bojan to the right side and put the sub up front. I wonder what de Boer has up his sleeve next.
55'
Milan are getting nowhere near the ball at the moment but they can take comfort from the fact that most of Ajax's chances are coming from shots from outside the box. They've yet to allow a clear goalscoring chance.
54'
Ajax are upping the tempo of their passing here but I would use the wings more often because Milan are looking very solid at the back.
53'
Klaasen plays a great cross into the box from the left side, with Abbiati not getting anywhere near the ball as he comes off his line. But De Sciglio is on hand at the back post to clear and get his keeper out of trouble.

Fischer plays a one-two with Bojan on the edge of the box, with the ball dropping to the Ajax player on the edge of the box. However it's just a little too high for him and he slashes his half volley well over the bar.
51'
Milan are packing the backline, plugging the gaps as Ajax continue to try and thread the ball through the eye of an needle. They'd be better playing some crosses into the penalty area.
50'
Fischer is looking very lively at the start of this second half. He's driting all over the pitch, picking up the ball wherever he can. Milan will need to keep an eye on him.
49'
It will interesting to see how Ajax approach this half. They look to be in control in terms of the flow of the match but they still need a goal. Looking at it that way Milan are still in control.
48'
Just for reference Barcelona are now officially ending their group stage campaign in style. They're 4-0 up against Celtic now, with Neymar now bagging himself a double.
47'
So de Boer has taken off Poulsen in favour of a more attacking threat. Of course there is a chance that Poulsen was actually hurt by that challenge from Montolivo. It was a shocker. Looked sore.

Ajax sub: Christian Poulsen OFF, Danny Hoesen ON.

The second half between AC Milan and Ajax has started!

What did you make of the first half? Did Montolivo deserve to be sent off? Are Ajax now favourites to come out on top come full time? Tweet me (@grahamruthven).

As the players walk off the pitch after the first half AC Milan are in the face of Poulsen who they believe was playacting for the tackle that saw Montolivo sent off. Of course, he wasn't. Very entertaining game. Suspect there will be some fireworks after the break.

HALF TIME: AC Milan 0-0 Ajax
45'
Ajax are presenting with a good set piece chance from 20 yards out but after much deliberation Schone fires his effort high and wide of the target. That would have been the perfect time to score.
44'
Kaka is trying his best to make things happen but he has a lack of support through the middle and Balotelli has cut a frustrated figure so far tonight. The Ajax backline has held firm whenever faced with something.
43'
Well it's actually Milan who are now pressing as half time approaches, with De Jong trying to thread through Kaka, but the Ajax defence deals with it well once again, with Moisander punting it clear.
42'
AC Milan are sinking deeper and deeper as Ajax mount the pressure as the first half winds down. Can the Amsterdam side find an opener before the break? Their passing suggests they think so.
41'
Scratch that about the other game in the group, as Pedro has just made it 2-0 to Barcelona over Celtic.
40'
Webb is getting some amount of stick from the home crowd here, as he calls an offside against Kaka. But his team have got it right again, just like they have all night.
