That was quite a magnificent defensive display by AC Milan. Backs-to-the-wall stuff for over an hour but their backline were solid, although Ajax will rue the few chances they did create. That result will ease the pressure on Allegri. He needed this result.

Klaasen almost finds the net with the last kick of the game! His improvised overhead kick flashes past the post. That would have been incredible. It wasn't to be.

Abbiati is taking forever to take this goal kick. Balotelli is squaring up to Ajax players for no apparent reason. It's all happening, besides an Ajax goal of course.

Van Rhjn plays a better cross into the box but after rising highest Hoesen can't make the desired connection and his header drifts wide of the target, allowing Milan to waste a few more seconds.

Ajax come forward once again, Van Rhjn shoots from the edge of the box, blocked. Then Blind tries to cross from the left side but it's too long and Abbiati is relieved to take the ball into his arms.

Remember Ajax just need one goal to snatch Milan's place in the last 16. They're throwing everything at the Italian team but the long balls into the box aren't falling for them.

Five minutes of stoppage time to be played at the end of the second half. That's right, FIVE!

And now Balotelli is having a bit of fun in the corner. Milan have wasted about two minutes in this corner now. How frustrating for Ajax!

Milan are now looking for the corners. They're holding on to what they've got, like they have for much of the second half. De Sciglio wins a freekick right in the opposition corner.

YELLOW CARD: Mattia De Sciglio (AC Milan)

Ajax are throwing everything at Milan. They're lumping crosses into the box, looking for Sigthorsson and hoping for the knockdowns. Will it work? Only minutes to go now.

Another chance for Ajax, with the ball this time falling kindly to Klaasen inside the penalty area, but it wouldn't come down quick enough for him and he shins his shot into the stomach of Constant.

YELLOW CARD: Nigel De Jong (AC Milan)

It's all getting a little fraught, with Milan unhappy with Webb for a number of challenges being made by the visitors. And they're unhappy with the freekicks being awarded against them too. Basically, they're just unhappy.

Well with those changes it's quite clear how the remaining eight minutes of this game are going to go. Milan are sitting deep, inviting pressure onto themselves like they have for much of this game. And Ajax are going all out attack!
