Kobayashi has just a fastest lap of the race - while Perez sitting very comfortably in second. Hamilton will be fuming that he cannot close in on the Sauber.
Button past Glock and now ahead of Ricciardo in 17th. Moving forward at last.
Webber closing in on Raikkonen who holds 5th - but is warned by his engineers that a shower could be coming 'starting from turn three in about 10 minutes'
Maldonado up to 13th now, ahead of Petrov in the Caterham. Williams and Sauber really impressing with their pace.
Kobayashi sweeps past Schumacher on the outside for 11th place, and means he's chasing down Hulkenberg next to get in the points positions.
Alonso, Perez and Hamilton in races of their own - nobody around them as they set solid times, about half a second slower than Button but on older rubber.
Kobayashi the latest to close in on Schumacher - the Mercedes is really struggling.
Button posts the fasstest lap of the race and is closing on Glock in 18th at a rate of about five seconds a lap.
Given all the drama of the first half of the race, who knows what will happen as we head into the second half - but one thing is for certain - Alonso has driven masterfully so far.
Alonso setting the pace in style. He's six seconds clear of Perez, and a further eight beyond Hamilton in third.
Massa gives up - into the pits as Senna takes his place. Button is making good ground - he's the fastest man on track, albeit from 19th.
Worse still for Massa - Vergne coasts past him on the home straight with DRS assistance. And Senna comes past Hulkenberg for 10th and HE IS FLYING.
And almost miraculously Massa defends his place against Vergne - but having just been told he could pounce and move past Rosberg, his race takes a turn for the worse.

Button sets the fastest middle sector on his outlap from the pits. He's getting a move on.
Webber the latest past Rosberg - you start to wonder if he has technical problems - but then Senna passes Schumacher and it might just be the car.
Button comes into the pits! But it has to be a set of intermediates. That's the action of a frustrated driver - will he be able to make these work?
Glock told on the radio that he might have to look after his tyres with a shower coming.
Rosberg's problems growing - Webber now closing in on him very quickly.
Raikkonen now through Rosberg on the home straight - where's the Mercedes' race pace - it's all too easy!
Senna has now surged past Ricciardo and is lapping well.
