Good afternoon and welcome to Eurosport's LIVE coverage of the World Cup last 16 clash between Sweden and Switzerland. We'll bring you all the action as it happens. Kick off is at 3pm.

That was a chance for Sweden. They had players up from the back, but they overplayed the opportunity and in the end Lustig sends his pass over the top and out of play for a goal kick.

Sweden have made it all the way to a World Cup final before. They made the final in 1958 when they hosted the tournament. They were beaten by Pele's Brazil, but that's as far as they have ever made it.

Sweden appear to have weathered the storm at the start of the second half. Switzerland cranked things up at the restart and created some opportunities, but they have been kept out.

Of course, it should be noted that the winner of this tie will face either Colombia or England in the quarter finals of the World Cup later this week. What a chance that is for all concerned.

That was surely a foul! Forsberg won the ball cleanly from Shaqiri, with the Stoke City man clawing back at him to prevent him surging forward on the break. No freekick awarded.

Sweden are having to dig deep to keep Switzerland out at the start of the second half. They have won four corner kicks in the space of just a few minutes. Sweden under pressure.

This has been a good start to the second half by Switzerland. This time it's Shaqiri who sends the whipped cross into the Swedish box and Olsen comes out to punch clear.

Switzerland will want to see more from Rodriguez. The left back is an outlet down the left side for them, but his deliveries have been lacking so far this afternoon. He's capable of more.

Switzerland were probably the better side of the first half, but Sweden had their moments and they probably should have opened the scoring with one of their chances.

HALF TIME: Sweden 0-0 Switzerland. This has been a hard fought opening 45 minutes. Both teams have had chances to open the scoring, but they must show more of a cutting edge.

ACROSS THE FACE! Shaqiri now drifts out to the left side and sends a great ball into the box, but there was nobody in a red shirt willing to attack the cross across the face of goal.

Out of nowhere, we have had three really good chances in the last few minutes. When these two teams come forward, they are capable of creating something in the final third.

SITTER MISSED! Ekdal was completely free at the back post. The cross was perfect for him, but rather than putting his head on it he sent a side-foot volley well over the crossbar.

DEFLECTED WIDE! Sommer was watching that, hoping it would flash wide. Forsberg's freekick picked up a deflection, but the ball bounces just wide of the far post. Very close.
