Khvicha Kvaratskhelia completes transfer to Paris Saint-Germain from Napoli, signs contract until 2029

Paris Saint-Germain arguably sealed the move of the January transfer window so far with a blockbuster deal for Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The Georgian winger was one of the stars of Napoli's Serie A title win in 2022/23, but asked to leave amid interest from the French champions. He has signed a contract until June 2029.

Paris Saint-Germain have signed Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in a deal reportedly worth €70 million (£59 million).
The Georgia international has signed a deal running until June 2029 with the French champions after surprisingly asking to leave Napoli mid-season.
He told the PSG website: "It's a dream to be here. I've heard a lot of very positive things about Paris Saint-Germain.
"I feel immense pride in joining this great club and I'm really looking forward to wearing my new colours."
The first time he could wear those colours may come this midweek against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League, live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
President Nasser Al-Khelaifi added: "We are delighted to welcome Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to the Paris Saint-Germain family.
"Khvicha is one of the most exciting players in world football - a fantastic talent, but also a player who has courage and fights for the team above all else.

"Khvicha was so determined to be part of our great club. I know he will achieve all his goals with us.
"We are delighted to be strengthening our squad and continuing to make the team the star of Paris Saint-Germain."
Kvaratskhelia was a key figure in the Italian club's Serie A title win in 2022/23, their first Scudetto triumph in 23 years.
The winger scored 12 league goals in his debut season following a move from Dinamo Batumi and was named as the Serie A Most Valuable Player.
However, the departure of head coach Luciano Spalletti resulted in a disastrous title defence last term as Napoli slumped to a 10th-place finish under three different managers.
Antonio Conte's summer arrival has sparked a revival, with Napoli currently top of the Serie A standings, but the coach revealed that his star forward had requested a sale and prompted a move to the French champions.
"He asked the club to be sold," Conte said. "I spoke to the player who confirmed this decision to me. I am disappointed, it was a bolt from the blue, and I am taking a step back.
"I would never want him to think in the future, if he were to stay, that I have chained him here. I did it last summer thinking I had convinced him of the project, but evidently I did not succeed. We are losing an important player."
Kvaratskhelia leaves Napoli with 30 goals to his name in 107 appearances across all competitions, as well as 29 assists.
He is also a key man for his country and starred for Georgia in their first major tournament at Euro 2024 last summer, scoring in a famous win over Portugal that sent them into the last 16.
