Three headers for three goals, all of them nicely administered but it's two taken by Danny Ings which give Southampton the lead. It's been a game low on quality or action, and yet again Arsenal cannot lead at the break. They'll surely improve after it, but might need two to win because at the moment, Ings looks too good for their defence.

GOAL! Southampton 2-1 Arsenal (Ings) This is very nicely done, out of absolutely nothing. Valery finds Redmond inside him, who ambles towards the corner of the box before clipping a delicious cross for Ings, drifting between Koscielny and Lichsteiner; he allows it to hit his forehand, so that it loops over Leno and into the near side-netting. That's very nicely done.

We've hardly seen Iwobi so far today, and he's been central to much of Arsenal's attacking endeavours so far this season. They're possibly missing Xhaka in midfield, because Guendouzi flits in and out and Torreira can't pass to himself.

Romeu finds Armstrong, who moves across the face of goal and launches into a drag that's easily collected by Leno.

There's not a lot going on now. Arsenal are passing it slowly, Southampton are mainly sitting off, and both sides look to fancy half-time.

Romeu fouls Torreira. He got there as quickly as he could.

Southampton need half-time. They're not being pummelled or anything, but Arsenal are playing with far greater purpose and confidence than previously.

Arsenal are coming, Guendouzi finding Torreira with a pass between centre-back and wing-back. He looks up, squares, and for a second it looks like Aubameyang can only score, but from nowhere, Bednarek slides in, extends a leg, arches a foot around the ball and pulls off a brilliant goalsaving tackle.

GOAL! Southampton 1-1 Arsenal (Mkhitaryan) Well! Arsenal keep the ball for a while but without doing much, then Iwobi comes deep, injects some pace and sticks Monreal in behind. He chugs in behind, cuts back, and Mkhitaryan times his arrival perfectly, heading firmly past McCarthy.
