Chance! Ramires curls a lovely cross for Eto'o, between two defenders, to head firmly, but just over the bar.

Mata's corner to Luiz at the near post is out for a goal kick. On the bench, Mourino looks to have developed a slight paunch.

Mata, on the right, can't quite cross accurately enough, but Ramires wins the ball back, and slips in Eto'o to win a corner.

Everton press Petr Cech to clear long. Chelsea build from the back, and David Luiz plays Ivanovic in on the right, but Distin clears his cross for a throw.

Samuel Eto'o starts for Chelsea, which is a novelty, but also slightly disappointing for everyone who likes him, but don't really like Chelsea. On the pitch, neither team has threatened yet. Coleman is tackled on the left.

Jose Mourinho is wearing knitwear, a shame for those of us who still like him. Howard Webb is refereeing, a shame for those of us who like not needing to slap our heads on the desk in sheer confusion at his decisions. He is a demonstrably demonstrative chap, though.

We're just five minutes away from kick off. I'm afraid we've missed this, though.

Roberto Martinez on Barry: “I see him getting back in the England team because there are not many like him. Normally in England you get the box-to-box midfielder, but Gareth brings a more continental approach."
17:10
Jose Mourinho on Mata: "He is a player I like very much, that's why he's here. He is a player I trust a lot and will fight for position like everybody else. Sometimes he will start, sometimes on the bench and sometimes he may not be selected because the squad is so competitive. With a match every three days, I will make 'strange' decisions to your eyes but because I think further than the next match and I want to have him at his maximum level."
17:05
Both sides enter the match unbeaten, albeit Everton have three draws to their name whilst Chelsea have amassed seven points from their trio of fixtures. Can Phil Jagielka and Sylvain Distin marshal Eto'o whilst also staying aware of the floating Mata, Hazard and Schurrle combo?
17:00
The big talking point for the visitors - as mentioned earlier - is Jose Mourinho finally picks Juan Mata in his starting XI. Chelsea new boy Samuel Eto'o is handed his debut in attack with Fernando Torres having to settle for a spot on the bench.
16:55
Life without Marouane Fellaini begins for Everton who hand an immediate debut to Gareth Barry after the Englishman’s move from Manchester City.
