Hazard's shot from just outside the box is badly handled by Howard - it strikes him on the arm - but all Eto'o can manage with his follow up is to drag it wide with his left foot.
Distin passes the ball out for a throw. Is this an Everton thing, terrible passes in defence?
Chance! Ramires pushes through, slides a ball for the diagonal run of Schurrle, who lfits the ball expertly over Howard, but against the side netting.
We're back! There have been no changes made for the start of the second half.
That's it. One event happened, but it was a goal. Praise be.
GOAL! Naismith scores! Something happens! Everton have the ball on the right. Osman is just inside a busy penalty area on the right. At the back post Jelavic heads across goal, and Naismith heads from just a couple of yards out.
Barry and Baines pass. Mirallas then crosses excellently to Coleman at the back post, but he heads it into the ground, and it loses its pace.
Mata tries a chip shot and/or cross on the left, just inside the box, and it's out for a goal kick. This is utter, utter muck. Ashley Cole is angry that he conceded a foul after fouling Naismith.
Everton have a throw just in Chelsea's half. They instantly lose the ball. Chelsea attack down Everton's half but are happy to play the ball back to Cech.
Mata takes, with Schurlle watching, and Ivanovic is only a couple of yards - if that - over the bar. That might have been Chelsea's best effort since the Ramires shot.
Everton have a free kick inside Chelsea's half. Osman fails to find anyone after receiving the ball from Jagielka, and Chelsea break down the left. Hazard jinks past Barry, so Barry kicks Hazard and Hazard falls over. Free kick by the corner of the box.
Eto'o is set free down the middle, but Baines does brilliantly to put him off his stride. The ball comes to Schurlle, who scores 3 rugby points.
A Chelsea corner, taken by Mata, is headed on by Terry to Luiz. His cross comes to Schurrle, just outside the box, but he slices well wide.
Nothing from the corner. Naismith breaks into Chelsea's half but, for God's sake! He passes to nobody.
Mata passes wide to Eto'o on the right. He pulls the ball back for Ramires. The ball sits up, and his volley is wallopped to the back post, only for Howard to stretch to save for a corner.
A cross is squared to Steven Naismith on the penalty spot. The pass from Mirallas is clipped just wide. That's the best chance for Everton so far.
Mikel takes the ball, and decides to shoot in his 184th Premier League game, and is still without a Premier League goal.
Everton have a free kick halfway in Chelsea half. Baines, on the right, takes, but Barkely's cross is blocked for a throw.
Chance! Tim Howard inexplicably passes to Mata, who pulls the ball back to Eto'o, on for a debut goal, but Barry saves his team and slide tackles to the rescue. The corner is then put straight out of play.
Coleman and Mikel swap tackles on Everton's right wing, and Chelsea win two throws from that position. That this is a noted event is instructive.
The man Shane has a point.
