Chelsea are increasingly desperate at the back, just one error away from calamity. Mirallas is almost in the position to chip Cech, who was playing as a sweeper.

Naismith hacks Eden Hazard, but avoids a booking. Chelsea have a free kick forty yards out but Everton clear.

Luiz booked, introducing Mirallas to the floor as he looked to break through on goal from the halfway line.

Hazard gives the ball away on the right wing, robbed by Coleman. Coleman advances towards the box, and just before he's there, Hazard sensibly trips him, and earns a booking.

Barkley gets just clear of Lampard but loses the ball. Mirallas is then put free on the left, and blasts the ball towards goal, but it's right at Cech who beats it away.

Chelsea aren't threatening despite their possession. For a team with Hazard and Oscar, that is particularly surprising. A cross is eventually cleared at the near post as Howard and Eto'o come together.

Eto'o chases down Seamus Coleman after he won the ball back, and wins a corner. Lampard takes, but Torres' header doesn't trouble Everton enough, and the ball is cleared.

It would be wrong to speculate.

Naismith boots towards Mirallas who, in his eagerness, miscontrols. Chelsea have had 67% of the possession this half.

Baines takes again. The inswinging corner is towards Distin at the back, but he can't escape Luiz, whose cheeky nudge is just enough.
