Good chance for the away team. Pepe makes a poor header to prevent a cross from reaching Santa Cruz, but when it breaks back to Amrabat he scuffs his shot into the ground and Lopez saves.

Real Madrid sub: Karim Benzema OFF, Angel Di Maria ON.

It looks like Benzema may indeed be coming off here. He's hobbling about and struggling to move freely and he's just made a gesture to the bench.

Malaga have looked dangerous at times coming forward but too often they get caught out on the break and you can't really do that against a team like Real Madrid. They're probably Europe's most dangerous team on the counter.

Real Madrid are momentarily down to ten men as Benzema receives treatment for a minor thigh strain. Is it worth keeping him on the pitch with the Clasico coming up next week? I'm not sure.

Bale is causing problems down the right side as well, which isn't ideal for Malaga because Antunes is already on a yellow card. That could be a danger for the left back, who is struggling to cope.

Ronaldo could really have had a hat trick in three minutes. Malaga are all of a sudden all over the place at the back, especially down the left side where Ronaldo is playing.

Another big chance for Ronaldo! Bale picks out the number seven at the back post, where he once again has acres of space. But Benzema's kind of gets in Ronaldo's way and he scuffs his shot wide of the target on the volley.

Huge save by Caballero! The ball is played out to Ronaldo, who has acres of space, but when he tries to fire it back across the face of goal the Malaga keeper sticks out a leg to make the impressive stop.

He just loves scoring against Malaga! Ronaldo has scored more goals against them than any other team in La Liga. That's him now scored 13 against Malaga and now has 39 for the season. Sensational stuff.

GOAL! Malaga 0 Real Madrid 1 (22 mins - Cristiano Ronaldo). The away side has the lead! Isco drags the defender one way, with Ronaldo cutting inside onto his right foot before smashing the ball into the net.

Real Madrid can go 30 games unbeaten tonight. They really have put their foot on the gas since the defeat in the Clasico last year. They are certainly the favourites for this season's La Liga title.

Well, maybe I was slightly harsh on Duda. Looking at replays he certainly makes a meal of the contact but he did appear to be tripped by Carvajal. Maybe Malaga should have had a penalty too!

YELLOW CARD: Vitorino Antunes (Malaga)

Duda is also playing well on the left side of the Malaga front three. However, he goes down in stages following a challenge by Carvajal in the box. There's no way he's getting a penalty kick for that.

This is a good spell for the home side. Pepe and Varane are struggling a bit to get the ball out of danger, with Malaga coming back at the La Liga table-toppers.

You may have guessed by the number of times he's been mentioned already, but Amrabat is playing well. The on loan Galatasaray player is seeing lots of the ball and causing problems on the right.

Amrabat gets the ball again and tries to pass the ball into Santa Cruz but this time Pepe gets across to make the interception.

Of course, Real Madrid can pile the pressure on rivals Atletico Madrid win a win tonight. Diego Simeone's side play Espanyol later and could be six points behind by the time they kick off.

First sight of goal for Malaga! Amrabat, who has been lively early on, swings a good cross into the penalty area looking for Santa Craz, but the former Manchester City striker puts his header over the bar.

Isco passes up the chance to shoot! The playmaker tries to pick his way through a packed Malaga backline, but when he creates a yard for the shot he decides to keep going rather than have a ping!
