Real Madrid haven't been themselves in the second half but if they can hold on here for the final minute here they will come away with another three points, setting them up nicely for next week's Clasico.

Huge chance for Real Madrid! The Malaga defence is absent, with Modric picking out Jese on the right wing with acres of space. However, his cross is cut out by the Malaga keeper when he tries to find Ronaldo in the six yard box.

Santa Cruz lines up a shot from the edge of the box but he gets too much power on the effort and the ball flies over the bar. Poor execution from the former Manchester City and Blackburn man.

Schuster is going for it here! He takes off Angeleri and has put on a striker in his place. Can Malaga find that goal they so desperately want? They're certainly pushing for it. Will Schuster's plan work?

And now Real Madrid come forward on the counter attack, but when Ronaldo cuts inside off the left side he sees his right footed shot saved by Caballero. The Malaga keeper has thwarted him so many times.

Big chance for the home side! A corner kick comes into box from the right side but with Santa Cruz free of his marker he puts his header wide of the target. He should have done better with that!

Malaga are ramping up the pressure. Can they find an equaliser? The home fans think so!

Very good exchange play between Portillo and Amrabat opens up the Real Madrid defence but when the cross is fizzed across the face of goal the Real Madrid defence deals with it and sets themselves again.

Good shot by Ronaldo, good save by Caballero. Marcelo breaks down the left side and plays a cut back pass to the winger on the ede of the box, but with the ball sitting up nicely he strikes his effort into the keeper.

The referee is having a word with Amrabat for a late tackle on Marcelo. The on loan Galatasaray player gets off lightly because he probably should have seen a yellow card for that.

Just for a moment it looked like Ronaldo would make it 2-0. The corner kick comes into the six yard box, but the stooping winger directs his glancing header just past the post. More of a contact and it would have been a goal.

The chance falls to the wrong player! The ball bounces about the box, with Santa Cruz heading the ball to the edge of the box, but Sanchez - the defender - can't get over his shot and blasts the volley well over!

This game is there for Malaga's taking now. You get the feeling that they have weathered the worst of the Real Madrid storm and the home crowd are urging their team forward. Can they find a goal?

Real Madrid come close! Bale gets to the byline with a stepover to fool Antunes, but his cross is too strong for Ronaldo and Marcelo's shot at the back post is blocked by Sanchez's outstretched leg.

Both teams are making the wrong choices when they get into the final third. Jese has hardly seen the ball since coming on and Duda can't find his final pass when Malaga attack. It's all a bit disjointed.
