That was almost nonchalent from Smalling. Shaqiri attempted to take on the Manchester United centre back, but he simply stepped across the Stoke man and shrugged him off the ball.

The referee wasn't happy with that! Oxlade-Chamberlain went in with some sort of scissor tackle on Inler. I thought for a moment that he was going to get booked for that.

This is where Switzerland could be dangerous. Shaqiri is excellent at delivering set pieces, but England defend this one well. Barkley gets to the near post to make the header.

FREE HEADER FOR CAHILL! Nice idea from the set-piece from England, with the ball crossed to Cahill about 10 yards out. But he can only draw the diving save from Sommer in the Swiss goal.

Switzerland come into this game on the back of a fight-back win over Slovenia on Saturday. They were 2-0 down in Basel, but rallied back to claim a 3-2 win - with the winner coming in stoppage time.

Indeed, it is Barkley who comes on to replace Delph. Is that the shortest England national team performance of all time? He was on the pitch for just 13 seconds before pulling up.

England sub: Fabian Delph OFF, Ross Barkley ON.
    5'
Barkley was dropped after playing against San Marino, but it now looks like he will be brought on for Delph. Hodgson isn't taking any chances, and I bet Manuel Pellegrini is pleased.

Uh oh. Problem for England early on, and it's Fabian Delph. The Manchester City midfielder has pulled up in the opening 30 seconds with what looks to be a hamstring injury.

I think everyone looked at this match when the draw was first made as the crunch fixture in the group, but England have already qualified and Switzerland are pretty close too.

Such has been the low standard of opposition in this group, England have qualified for the European Championships in record quick time. But this will be a rare test for Hodgson's men.
    19:30
England have already qualified for Euro 2016 after victory over San Marino. So this is essentially a glorified friendly, although not for Switzerland - who still have plenty to play for.

Ross Barkley, John Stones and Phil Jagielka all make way from the starting lineup that played against San Marino, with Jamie Vardy also missing. In their place come in Chris Smalling, Gary Cahill and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
    19:15
Of course, the biggest storyline tonight is that Rooney could become England's all-time top goalscorer with just one strike against Switzerland. So he'll be shooting at every opportunity, then.
    19:10
Roy Hodgson has kept Jonjo Shelvey in his starting lineup for tonight's game. The Swansea City midfielder was rather impressive in Saturday's win over San Marino, and so he retains his place.
