Wimbledon 2025 Day 7 recap - Carlos Alcaraz battles past Andrey Rublev, Cameron Norrie survives epic test as Aryna Sabalenka advances
Day 7 at Wimbledon 2025 saw reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz beat Andrey Rublev, while last-man-standing Brit Cameron Norrie continued his journey. In the women's draw, the world's top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka beat Elise Mertens on Centre Court to advance. Brit Sonay Kartal was defeated by Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, while Taylor Fritz and Karen Khachanov will meet in the quarter-finals.

This has been a high-quality match of tennis from these two so far, with 23-year-old Kartal looking to continue her best showing at her home slam.

Fritz has been speaking after his last 16 victory.
"It's extra special because it's so prestigious, obviously the grass as well, but Wimbledon just has this historic feel that no other tournament has," he said.
"It's just a different feeling being here as opposed to the other slams and it's always a really special time of year.
"The first time I came here as a junior, and it just felt like a dream to be at Wimbledon playing the event."

Alcaraz is up against 14th seed Andrey Rublev as he continues his title defence on Centre Court from 15:30 UK time, while Cameron Norrie will look to keep the British flag flying in the men's draw and faces Nicolas Jarry on Court No. 1, starting from 14:40.
Taylor Fritz is underway against Jordan Thompson, while in the women's draw, Britain's Sonay Kartal is about to step out on Centre Court against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.
Later on the showpiece court, world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka locks horns with Elise Mertens, while Linda Noskova and Amanda Anisimova play each other in the third of three WTA matches after Solana Sierra and Laura Siegemund's encounter was suspended.
