Wimbledon 2025 Day 7 recap - Carlos Alcaraz battles past Andrey Rublev, Cameron Norrie survives epic test as Aryna Sabalenka advances
Day 7 at Wimbledon 2025 saw reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz beat Andrey Rublev, while last-man-standing Brit Cameron Norrie continued his journey. In the women's draw, the world's top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka beat Elise Mertens on Centre Court to advance. Brit Sonay Kartal was defeated by Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, while Taylor Fritz and Karen Khachanov will meet in the quarter-finals.

Those were Sabalenka's words when asked about her bid for a maiden Wimbledon title.
"With your support guys, I think everything is possible," she said on Centre Court immediately after her victory against Mertens.
"I don't know. It's such a beautiful tournament. I always dreamed of winning it. Every time I'm here, I'm trying to give my best and really hope for the best."
