The snooker wonderkid who has been described as the green baize version of darts prodigy Luke Littler continued his dream run at the Wuhan Open on Wednesday. 18-year-old Stan Moody racked up an incredible 431 points without reply in a rapid 5-0 whitewash of former world and Masters finalist Barry Hawkins, a victory Moody described as "the best win of my career" to reach the last eight.

Stan Moody admitted he was "in the zone" after racking up 431 points without reply in a remarkable 5-0 whitewash of world No. 8 Barry Hawkins in the last 16 of the Wuhan Open on Wednesday.
In what he described as the "best win of my career", the 18-year-old former world junior champion from Halifax registered quick-fire breaks of 108, 87 and 54 with Hawkins failing to score a point in the final four frames.
After wrapping up the victory in only 57 minutes from 39-39 in the first frame, world No. 61 Moody said he felt the statement display had been coming since he turned professional two years ago.
Snooker GOAT Ronnie O'Sullivan continues to hold the record for unanswered points in elite competition, with his 556 without reply achieved in a 6-0 win over Ricky Walden in the 2014 Masters quarter-finals.
"It is the best win of my career, I'd say," said Moody. "I played very, very well. I was just in the zone.
"Don't know what happened, to be honest. I just potted everything.
"Hopefully, it is the same next game."

Moody will take on defending champion Xiao Guodong in the quarter-finals on Thursday, his first appearance in the last eight of a major ranking event.
Xiao continued his quest for back-to-back titles in Wuhan with a 5-2 win over Matthew Selt that included a delightful 136 in the second frame.
"I thought I'd have a run like this last season, but it didn't happen because I wasn't experienced enough," said Moody.
"But this season I'm more relaxed and enjoying playing, competing and love the pressure now.
"I think today was a bit of a freak performance. On another day, I don't get the fluke in one of the frames, and then I don't play as well.
"I didn't give him a chance, but that is just the way it goes sometimes.
"I knew I had to pot most of the balls.
"I wasn't thinking of all the points without reply."
Moody won his opening Wuhan Open qualifier 5-2 against Antoni Kowalski in June before completing wins over Ding Junhui (5-3) and Zhou Yuelong (5-1), compiling 131 against Ding while also ending the much-discussed 'Ding Curse' in Wuhan.

"It is a big thing to reach the quarter-finals for the first time, but hopefully, I can go deeper," he said.
"If I play like that, I'll be hard to stop.
"Xiao is defending champion, so it will be a good occasion."
