Judd Trump continues to find some weird and wonderful ways in which to get movement on the white ball that seems to be beyond the rest of the professional game. During his 5-1 win over Liu Hongyu on Monday, the world No. 1 managed to float in a yellow and come back across the table for green on his way to compiling 119 in the third frame. His mastery of the white ball remains a unique asset.

Another day, another shot by Judd Trump to defy the accepted conventions in controlling the cue ball.
Just like Jimmy 'Whirlwind' White in his pomp in the 1980s and 1990s, the world No. 1 likes to put on a clinic during frames in demonstrating what can be archived when you accelerate through the white at pace.
During an impressive 5-1 dismissal of Liu Hongyu, Trump produced a marvellous shot on the yellow that was understated in its execution, but remarkable in the amount of revs that he applied to the white.
After reaching 105 in a superb 119 break in the third frame, the 2019 world champion was faced with a routine pot on yellow to reach green.
There were a number of ways of playing the pot, from stunning the white to flicking the cue ball off one or two cushions to come back for the green.
But Trump got enough bottom on the cue ball to see it bite back across to the right-hand side of the table, just missing the green along the baulk line to land perfectly on the next ball to the green bag with an exquisite positional effort.

Trump once somehow got a white to briefly move then completely stand still in slotting a long green with white on a side cushion against a smiling Barry Hawkins during the 2021 German Masters semi-finals, an effort dubbed 'shot of the century'.
The skill of the pot on the yellow was not lost on the crowd in Wuhan, who gave a knowing round of applause before Trump later added 111 on his way to a last-32 meeting with Jack Lisowski on Tuesday.
Judging by the way the close friends attack the table, it could be another treat for all those shot-spotters in Wuhan as the race for the £140,000 first prize continues to gather pace.
