Liverpool have agreed a deal to sell Uruguayan forward Darwin Nunez to Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal for a fee worth an initial €53 million, TNT Sports understands.
Nunez, 26, has now been given permission to travel and complete a medical ahead of the move.
Having started just eight Premier League games last season, Nunez has struggled to force his way into Arne Slot’s preferred starting 11 - not helped by the manager criticising the player for his "work effort" at one point this year.
It looked like his Liverpool career had been given a lifeline when the club turned down deals for him in the January transfer window.
But now he is heading for Saudi Arabia, with Liverpool keen to recoup as much money as possible for the Uruguayan.
The Premier League champions signed Nunez from Benfica in 2022 for a deal worth £64m plus add-ons, rumoured to wind up being closer to the £85m mark.

This deal is for a fixed fee of £46.2m plus add-ons that could take it to £56.6m, netting a huge loss for the British club - but one they seemed willing to take.
Interest from AC Milan and Napoli did not materialise into significant enough bids for Liverpool to consider, despite Nunez and his representatives pushing for a move.

Nunez scored 40 goals in 143 appearances for Liverpool, including 18 in Jurgen Klopp’s last season.
If the move is completed, he’ll join an Al Hilal side that recently pulled off a famous 4-3 victory over Manchester City in the Club World Cup, and recorded a 1-1 draw with Real Madrid.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are still pursuing Alexander Isak in this transfer window from Newcastle.
They are due to face Crystal Palace in the Community Shield on Sunday, August 10, before their first Premier League match against Bournemouth on Friday, August 15.
