Alexander Isak: Liverpool make initial approach for £120m-rated Newcastle United striker - reports

Alexander Isak could yet be on the move this summer and Liverpool are the latest club to show genuine interest in the striker, who is considered untouchable by Newcastle United. The Premier League champions are reportedly ready to stump up £120 million for the Sweden international, who scored 27 goals in all competitions last season. Liverpool have not yet made a formal offer.

Liverpool have reportedly made an approach for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.
According to The Athletic, the reigning Premier League champions are willing to splash £120 million on the striker this summer and have "communicated their interest to do a deal".
Liverpool are reported to be aware of Newcastle's stance that the player is not for sale this summer.
TNT Sports understands Liverpool are assessing options in the market but there has been no direct contact between the two clubs.
The news of Liverpool's interest in the Swede comes on the same day that Newcastle reportedly had a £70m bid to sign Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike turned down.
In the Premier League last season, Isak scored 23 goals in 34 games, including a strike against Liverpool in a 3-3 draw at St. James' Park.
He also grabbed an assist in that game, one of six he produced across the season.
Since joining Newcastle from Real Sociedad, Isak has scored 62 goals and registered 11 assists in 109 matches across all competitions.
He also helped Eddie Howe's side to League Cup success last season - the club's first major trophy in 56 years - with a goal against Arne Slot's side at Wembley.
Liverpool are reportedly focused on bolstering their front line this summer, with current No. 9 Darwin Nunez edging towards an Anfield exit, while the club have turned down a bid in the region of £60m from Bayern Munich for Luis Diaz.
They have already made a club-record signing this window with the arrival of Florian Wirtz, while also securing the high-profile signings of Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong as they look to defend their status as champions.
