Credit to the visitors, they lost Ambrosini early on but reacted well and have pushed on and are fully deserving of this win.

This win will see Fiorentina up into fourth.

Next up for Milan, Barca in the Champions League – it doesn’t get any easier.

Borja Valero, who has probably been the man of the match, closes down on Balotelli to win the ball back before hacking clear.

Massimiliano Allegri is under all sorts of pressure after this result. On the pitch, Balotelli is cutting an increasingly isolated and frustrated figure.

There just hasn’t been enough pressure on the ball from the hosts when they don’t have it and it looks like that could cost them here.

No Robinho or Matri for the hosts here – a surprising call as they have the class to change the course of the game, surely?

OH! Balotelli puts his hand rather aggressively in the face of Rodriguez and he is lucky that the referee did not pick that up as he could have got a straight red there.

Milan have toiled – but they are lacking the cutting edge.

Big chance to half the deficit. Abate gets to the byline and crosses for Saponara but he gets horribly underneath the effort and it flies over.

GOAL!! Borja Valero with it. He gambles to get into the box and follows up from Gabriel’s flap at a Joaquin cross to tap into the net and double his side’s advantage.

The corner is cleared with ease by Milan – again, the final ball needs to be better.

The free-kick is played short but it is blocked for a corner. They really need to improve their quality in the final third.
