Good evening! It’s been a bit of a week for Tottenham Hotspur, so much so that it’d be easy to forget that the games keep on coming. Today sees Southampton visit north London as Ryan Mason takes charge of his first Spurs game. I’ll bring you build-up over the next 45 minutes, followed by live text commentary.

So, on to the week of drama. Just in case you’ve been living under a rock, here is the summary: Spurs – one of 12 European clubs coined the ‘dirty dozen’ – confirmed their intention to join a new European Super League on Sunday night, only to withdraw yesterday after two days of furious reaction from fans of all clubs. It’s been a quite remarkable weekend that threatened to completely change the sport for good.
The Saints ring the changes, five in all, from the team that lost against Leicester in the FA Cup at the weekend. Out go Ryan Bertrand, Fraser Forster, Nathan Redmond, Moussa Djenepo and Ibrahima Diallo, and in come Alex McCarthy, Mohammed Salisu, Nathan Tella, Theo Walcott and Che Adams.
Mason makes three changes to the side that started against Everton, with Gareth Bale, Giovani Lo Celso and Lucas Moura coming in. Harry Kane is out through injury, while Joe Rodon is left out, presumably because he is ineligible for Sunday’s cup final and the new manager wants a settled defence in his first week.
First up let’s look into the team news, then we’ll get our teeth stuck into the rest of this week’s goings on.
