Excellent work from Bolasie once more as he races down the left, but Villa are able to deal with his cross into the box and clear the danger.

Villa clear a corner, but only as far as McArthur who volleys a strike well wide of the target from the edge of the box.

Palace have made a half-time change with Campbell coming on to replace Gayle who has picked up a knock.

Palace get this second half under way...

And there goes the half-time whistle at Selhurst Park... It is Palace who have looked the more lively and created the more chances, yet Villa find themselves 1-0 up going into the break thanks to a fine goal from Benteke upon his return from suspension.

Palace continue to come forward, but Villa's defence are starting to hold up rather well at the moment, as opposed to earlier in the game when they were all at sea.

Villa have gone on to lose each of the last three Premier League matches where Benteke has netted the opening goal - 4-1 v Stoke in March 2014, 2-1 v Chelsea in May 2013 and 2-1 v Liverpool in March 2013.

Bolasie gets forward down the left, but just as he gets into a good position in the final third, he then loses it. The Eagles need to be far more efficient in those areas as they could really cause Villa some trouble.

Palace have managed to get forward on countless occasions in this half, but more often than not they have picked the wrong pass or overhit a cross.

Benteke has also scored the opening goal in a Premier League away match for the first time since Villa’s 3-3 draw at Everton in February 2013.

That was Benteke's first Premier League away goal since Villa’s 2-2 draw at Liverpool in January.

Palace come forward again and it is that man Zaha again who bursts into the box, only to fire a strike high and wide from a tight angle. Villa are really struggling at the moment.

Palace pile forward again and Zaha picks out Bolasie in the middle, but Guzan does brilliantly to save the winger's effort with his chest. Great pressure from the Eagles.

What a response from Palace as they soon go down the other end as Zaha sees a stinging strike turned away by Guzan, before Bolasie's effort is blocked by the Villa defence.

GOAL!!! Superb stuff from Benteke, who steals the ball off Dann before bearing down on goal and bending a fine strike into the bottom corner from the edge of the box. Speroni with no chance.

Zaha with another cross into the box, but once again it is a disappointing one. If the winger can sort out his delivery then Villa will be in real trouble.

Westwood is given a talking to by the referee for a late foul on Chamakh, but he avoids picking up a yellow card.
