Davis dithers and is tackled by Coutinho, who almost finds Suarez with a clever through ball.

Lallana plays a one-two with Lambert, finds Rodriguez, and Skrtel heads away bravely under a Rodriguez challenge. Shaw then bursts forward, lays the ball back for Lallana, who hooks the ball wide.

Chambers' cross on the right is deflected out for a corner by Johnson, but the corner is headed away. Southampton come back again, and again Liverpool head away.

Southampton come forward, and Davis wastes the opportunity, chipping the ball forward to nobody when he was in space on the right. Davis, that is, not nobody.

Sturridge is tackled on the edge of the box, and Southampton have a throw on the left, around their penalty area. Liverpool then briefly win the ball back before Southampton send it clear.

Shaw is robbed and Liverpool move the ball from the right to left. Allen finds space, but is tackled in the box, and now Cork hacks Suarez just on the edge of the D. Chance for Liverpool to go further ahead now.
