Rovers saunter forward and Ruben Rochina, who scored a cracker against Fulham last weekend, drags an effort well off target.

Mikel Arteta plays in Gervinho with a clever reverse pass and the Ivorian in turn looks to find Van Persie. The striker attempts to take the ball in his stride but the touch is too heavy and the ball runs away from him.

Lovely stuff from Junior Hoilett. The forward skips away down the left wing, drives into the box and then fires in a cross which Wojciech Szczesny clasps at the near post. He really is a big talent, Hoilett.

Gervinho plays in Bacary Sagna and former Arsenal target Chris Samba heads away for a throw-in to the Gunners. It is all Arsenal early on.

KICK OFF!
12.43
Arsenal, by the way, today become the first team this season to start without a single English player. Rightly so as well, as Walcott was pretty terrible against Swansea last weekend. He and Kieran Gibbs are both on the bench.

Both clubs are experiencing their worst start to a Premier League season so there is a chance here for either Blackburn or Arsenal to enjoy a real shot in the arm. Arsenal are of course favourites and Kean could well be heading for another defeat today. Venky's says they support their man despite supporters wanting the manager gone.

So what do the stats tell us? Well, Robin van Persie may well score as he has netted eight times in 10 games against Blackburn - more than any other side - and has scored in 10 of his past 11 away games. Rovers have one win in 10 against the Gunners and have lost nine times to Arsenal at Ewood Park in the Premier League - more than any other club. That doesn't look promising for Rovers.
12.25
Blackburn also have a debutant with Yakubu making his first appearance since joining the club from Everton on transfer deadline day. Jason Lowe also makes his first Premier League start in midfield while Junior Hoilett is available despite a sickening clash with Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer in last weekend's 1-1 draw.
12.20
Deadline day signing Andre Santos makes his full debut for Arsenal while Alex Song and Gervinho return from their domestic suspensions to strengthen the midfield, with Theo Walcott and Emmanuel Frimpong making way from the team that beat Swansea 1-0 last weekend. Both Song and Gervinho started in the midweek draw at Borussia Dortmund though.

In fact, Rovers fans have protested against Kean prior to kick-off today, as well as contacting owners Venky's directly to request his removal. He has won only five of 25 league games since replacing Sam Allardyce in contentious circumstances last season.

Today's game pits against each other two managers who have been under considerable pressure this season. Arsenal's poor start - with four points from four games - has seen fans question Arsene Wenger, while Blackburn supporters are in mutinous mood and have called for the head of Steve Kean after Rovers picked up one point from four games.
