This is Real Madrid's final league game of 2014, with the European Champions flying off to play in the Club World Cup after this. They will play a semi-final in Morocco next week, and then a final should they get through that game.

Of course, this is an important game for Almeria as well. They sacked Francisco Rodriguez earlier in the week and have still to make a permanent appointment as his replacement.

Good chance for the home side! Soriano tries to squeeze a shot through on goal at the near post, before the ball spins away to Dubarbier, who sees his shot charged down by Carvajal.

Ramos is suspended tonight for Los Blancos, which is why Varane is starting for them tonight. Rodriguez is also injured, with Isco and Illarramendi playing together in the centre of midfield.

Real Madrid come into this game on the back of a 19-game winning streak, which has set a new Spanish record. Can Ancelotti's side make it 20 wins in a row tonight? Or can Almeria spring a surprise?
