Good afternoon, and welcome to our live coverage of the La Liga game between Real Madrid and Real Sociedad. Second hosts seventh in today's early fixture.

Sociedad just can't get out here. An attempted passing move from the back ends up with Bravo who, under pressure from Bale, lumps it out of play.

Xabi Alonso bends in another left-sided free kick, but this one is well overhit and Ronaldo can't keep it in play at the back post.

The visitors had started reasonably well, but apart from a couple of forays from Griezmann they've offered nothing since.

Too easy, really. Ronaldo carried the ball down the left, opted against taking on Carlos Martinez, centred for Benzema who, all on his own, finished clinically. We expected goals, we've got them.

GOAL! Benzema sidefoots home from Ronaldo's assist. 2-0!

The goal was, looking back, a bit of a disaster for Inigo Martinez, who lost Ronaldo as the ball went over his head.

Vela and Griezmann try to get things going for Sociedad, but Martinez runs down a blind alley and is snuffed out by Modric.

They're in the mood now. Bale tees up Ronaldo 15 yards out, and his shot is relatively tame. Bravo gathers, but the visitors are on the ropes here.

Real had experienced some joy already with that diagonal ball over the left of Sociedad's defence. This one found Ronaldo on his own. One touch and a lashed finish low across Bravo.

GOAL! Karim Benzema crosses to Ronaldo, who controls and fires home.

Ronaldo slips a neat ball down the line to Modric, whose cross finds Bale. His header isn't really one thing or the other, and it's scrambled away.

Much more like it from the hosts, who really need to stay in winning ways today.

Arbeloa is fouled in a similar position to where Ronaldo troubled the woodwork. Xabi Alonso's free kick nearly catches out Bravo in the Sociedad goal, but he paws it wide.

Ronaldo dips a wicked, swerving 25-yarder from the left corner of the box, and it pings off the top of the bar.

The visitors are posing a threat down the right. Real Madrid yet to click into any kind of gear.

Sociedad win their first corner. Griezmann swings it in but it's a poor one, easily cleared.

Varane brings the ball down neatly and sets in motion a move that leads from Ronaldo, to Modric, to an offside Karim Benzema.

Neither side too fussed about keeping possession early on. One nice interception by Antoine Griezmann, very much a man in form, inside the Madrid half.

If you listen closely, you'll hear the sound of two teams purring into form. Sociedad seem to have got over a horrid start to the season in which they won one of their first eight - they've now won three of their last four La Liga games, and thrashed Osasuna 5-0 last week. Real Madrid, meanwhile, outdid Seville by an improbable 7-3 in their last home game, and were happy to come away from Real Vallecano with a 3-2 victory last week - although their hosts made them sweat for it.
