Saints five-star again

Saints hit five goals at St Mary's for the second time in four days, Jason Puncheon scoring one and making two as the home side ran riot.

Headers from Rickie Lambert and Lee Barnard put them in control before Puncheon's fierce low cross-shot made it 3-0 at half-time. Dean Hammond then headed in Puncheon's corner before Lambert teed up the fifth for Papa Waigo.

Saints are in 10th place in the table due to their 10-point deduction, and lie 14 points behind Town who currently occupy sixth spot.

Elsewhere in League One, a trademark strike from Jeff Hughes on the half-hour earned Bristol Rovers a 1-0 home win over Stockport, who had David Poole sent off in the last minute.

Rovers are ninth in the table, 10 points off the play-off zone, while County stay bottom, nine points from safety.
