After an exciting Thursday night of football, Premier League giants Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur will go head-to-head in the UEFA Europa League final.
The Red Devils recorded an impressive 7-1 aggregate victory over Athletic Club, while Spurs stormed to a 5-1 win over this season's surprise package Bodo/Glimt across two legs.
The results mean that these two iconic English clubs will collide in the final at San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao - which will be live on TNT Sports and discovery+ on May 21 - despite their difficult campaigns domestically.
With that in mind, we thought the time was right to look back at every all-English final in the history of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.

How many all-English Champions League finals have there been?

Fans of English football had to wait until the 2007/08 season to see the first all-English UEFA Champions League final.
A Manchester United side featuring the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Carlos Tevez and Wayne Rooney edged a closely-fought encounter against Chelsea, winning on penalties in Moscow after the game finished 1-1.
It gave United their third European Cup, following previous successes in 1968 and 1999.

The floodgates have opened since then, and we have been treated to two more in recent years.
The second all-English Champions League final took place at the end of the 2018/19 campaign, with Liverpool beating Tottenham 2-0 in Madrid.
The third all-English final was in 2021, and on that occasion Chelsea edged Manchester City 1-0 in Porto to win the competition for a second time.

How many all-English Europa League finals have there been?

The first UEFA Cup final was in 1972 - the tournament was the forerunner to the UEFA Europa League - and was contested between English clubs. Tottenham were involved that time around too.

Spurs faced Wolves, and they triumphed 3-2 on aggregate to become the first winners of the competition.
Two English clubs would not face each other in the final again until the 2018/19 campaign.
The final that year was a London derby between Arsenal and Chelsea, but the evening ended up being one for Gunners fans to forget as Maurizio Sarri's side ran out 4-1 winners in Baku.
United and Spurs fans will be desperate to see their side win the 2024/25 Europa League final, with the considerable added bonus of UEFA Champions League football next season for the victors.
