MAN CITY CAUGHT BY THE PSG PRESS
The visitors lose the ball on the edge of the area. Barcola show neat feet to spin a couple of challenges and feed it wide to the right, but Ederson drops on the low ball into the middle.

H2H
The Ligue 1 champions have picked up just one victory and lost four of their last seven encounters with Man City.
However, PSG did win their last home clash with The Citizens in the UCL in 2021 – a 2-0 triumph in which they had just six shots, which is the fewest number of attempts they’ve registered in a home match in Europe’s elite competition (since stats were first collated in 2003-04).

PSG BOSS LUIS ENRIQUE RELISHING CRUNCH BATTLE WITH GOOD ‘FRIEND’ PEP
"It will be a special match, because of its significance in the competition and also because I get to meet a friend [Pep Guardiola] who I played alongside and who came through the same coaching school at Barcelona. We have a very similar playing philosophy so it should be a good match."

THE TNT SPORTS EXPERTS ASSESS MAN CITY'S ACTIVITY IN THE WINTER WINDOW
Rio Ferdinand believes Erling Haaland penning a long-term contract is the best signing the reigning Premier League champions will make in January.
The former England defender also reckons the addition of Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush will provide an extra goal threat and take some of the burden off the club's Norwegian No.9, although the likes of Phil Foden and Kevin de Bruyne also look to have returned to form in recent weeks.

Rio on Marmoush: "I think they need another body up there, because you need to give some time on the bench or out of the game to recuperate for Haaland. It can’t all just rest on his shoulders and (Julian) Alvarez was a great understudy.

Ferdinand added: "He (Marmoush) has to change his approach now. He’s started every game, but a big difference is he’s always up there with a partner, which he isn’t going to have when you play up front for City. He’s going to have to make sure that he understands the duty and the job, that he is not the No. 1 striker, obviously. That’s a big difference for him now. How he adjusts to that."

ANALYSIS: LAURENS ON CITY'S KHUSANOV MOVE AND PSG'S STATEMENT ADDITION OF KVARATSKHELIA
French football journalist and TNT Sports regular Julien Laurens has been discussing all-things Ligue 1 pitchside at the Parc des Prince, including Lens centre-back Abdukodir Khusanov's £33.6m move to Man City and PSG's 70m euro transfer of Napoli attacker, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
On Khusanov: "For me it’s the story of this transfer window, because 18 months ago he was playing in the Belarus top-flight. Lens went to get him there for £84,000 and now they’ve just sold him to Manchester City. I would say he is one of the top three centre-backs in Ligue 1 this season, outstanding. He just has everything. Yes, you bought the potential if you’re Manchester City, because he’s still only 20 years old and has never played in European competitions. But he’s got that potential. He’s strong physically, he wins all the duels on the ground, in the air, he’s really quick. He needs to work on the ball playing side of his game, but for the rest he’s definitely one for the future. I don’t think it will take him long to be able to play for Pep Guardiola."
On Kvaratskhelia: "It’s a shame he can’t play tonight or next week because he’s ineligible for the Champions League. But I think everybody around the club, within the team as well, for Luis Enrique, it’s a wonderful player they’ve signed, who ticks all the boxes for what PSG are doing now. The rebuilding of this team with less big stars but a more complete squad with more cohesion and unity and brilliance everywhere. Certainly he as a left winger will bring that to the team."

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN READY TO FACE ‘GREAT’ MANCHESTER CITY SIDE
"We know they are a great team. Over the last seven years, they have won six Premier League titles. We have to be focused because they have great players, a good goalscorer and great defenders. And a great coach. With that in mind, anything is possible in a match. We will play our game, especially in front of our fans. And we have great belief in ourselves."

PEP TALK: THE CITY BOSS CHATS TO TNT SPORTS ABOUT RECENT IMPROVEMENT AFTER MINI CRISIS
Pep Guardiola insists he will always hold a special place in his heart for the players who stood up to be counted when Manchester City were suffering through their recent run of diabolical form.
City's 6-0 victory over Ipswich on Sunday seemed to signal that Guardiola's side had turned a corner after winning just one game in 13 across all competitions between October and December.
"I know the names, they will remain in my heart, they will define that [poor run of results].

"How the people with injuries made the effort to play, players that were really, really tired and would say we can't compete, we can't win games, but they were able to do it.
"When they were there, the day after, they were always sad. On the second day they would say, 'OK, let's try again'.

ERLING HAALAND EXCLUSIVE: 'MAN CITY CAN LEARN FROM STRUGGLES'
Erling Haaland admits that Manchester City’s "tough" season has helped him appreciate the club's past success.
"Its been a tough period," Haaland said. "It’s been hard and challenging. But also something good comes out of that as well.
"It’s about learning, it’s about getting better. You need to look at yourself first and then look forward, and that’s what we’re doing right now.
"It’s tough, of course. Barely winning games is not nice when you’re used to winning almost every single game."
