The Villans' 1-0 win over Brentford at the weekend was their third victory in a row. Tonight, they go in search of a fourth successive success, something they have not achieved since September.

Aston Villa have not played too much Champions League football in recent years, and this is the first time they have reached the knock-out stage of the competition since it was rebranded in the 1990s.

Club Brugge would have to stage quite the comeback for this game to go to penalties though. They trail 3-1 after the first leg in Belgium, when Leon Bailey and Marco Asensio, as well as an own goal, helped give Villa a commanding advantage.

As for Club Brugge, they stick with the same XI who won in the derby at the weekend, when Ferran Jutglà struck twice and Hans Vanaken was also on target in a 3-1 victory against Cercle Brugge.

The good news for Villa is that Emi Martinez is available for selection after missing the win over Brentford at the weekend due to muscle pain.

His return is one of five changes made by Unai Emery, as Matty Cash, Ian Maatsen, Boubacar Kamara and Marcus Rashford also come in, meaning Robin Olsen, Axel Disasi, Lucas Digne, Leon Bailey and Jacob Ramsey miss out.
