Jamal Musiala to miss UEFA Champions League clash with Inter after hamstring tear adds to Bayern Munich injury woes
Bayern Munich's injury crisis deepened on Saturday when the German club announced that Jamal Musiala had "suffered a muscle tear in his left hamstring." The midfielder went down during Friday's win over Augsburg and will miss both legs of Bayern's UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Inter. He joins the likes of Manuel Neuer, Dayot Upamecano and Alphonso Davies on the treatment table.

Jamal Musiala has been ruled out of Bayern Munich’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Internazionale after suffering a hamstring tear.
The Germany international had to be helped off the pitch during Friday’s 3-1 Bundesliga win over Augsburg after going down clutching the back of his leg.
Bayern board member Max Eberl said after the game that Musiala "won’t be there" for Tuesday's first leg against Inter in Munich, and a subsequent statement confirmed the diagnosis.
"FC Bayern will be without Jamal Musiala for the time being," said a note on Bayern’s website.
"Following a scan by the German record champions’ medical team, it’s been confirmed the 22-year-old attacker suffered a muscle tear in his left hamstring."
Although the club did not mention a time frame, a report from Sky Sport Germany claims that the injury could sideline the 22-year-old for eight weeks.
That would see him miss both legs against Inter, on Tuesday, April 8 in Munich and at San Siro on Wednesday, April 16 - live on TNT Sports and discovery+ - and the rest of the Bundesliga season.
The Champions League final is on May 31, exactly eight weeks on from Bayern’s statement being published, therefore putting Musiala’s availability in doubt should the Germans get that far.
However, the midfielder should be back in time for Bayern’s participation in the FIFA Club World Cup, where they face Auckland City in their opening game on June 15 before taking on Boca Juniors and Benfica in the group stage.

Musiala’s absence adds to a litany of fitness issues in the Bayern squad, with Dayot Upamecano, Manuel Neuer, Alphonso Davies, Hiroki Ito and Aleksandar Pavlovic also unavailable for Tuesday.
"It’s obviously extremely bitter, regardless of whether it’s Jamal or someone else," said Bayern midfielder Joshua Kimmich after the Augsburg win.
"It’s crazy how many injuries we have right now."

England captain and Bayern top scorer Harry Kane, who is likely to lead the line against Inter on Tuesday, was also frustrated by the loss.
"It’s disappointing to see. We didn’t have a good week with all the injuries," Kane said.
"Jamal is an important player for us, so we’ll miss him for how long he will be out for. Hopefully it’s not as bad as it looked."
Musiala has been a key player for Bayern this season under new manager Vincent Kompany, scoring 18 goals and registering eight assists in 40 appearances across all competitions.
News of the midfielder's fitness issues followed the announcement that club legend Thomas Muller will leave at the end of the season.
