On the Netherlands international, who spent time in the Barcelona academy, the publication said: "Given the club's financial situation, the deal is extremely complicated, although it was the main topic discussed at the meeting.
"His current price tag is completely unaffordable, even more so considering Hansi Flick's statements about the team's overbooking of midfielders.
"Therefore, this is merely a survey to enquire about the player's situation and an initial contact with agents, with the goal of keeping a close eye on the market."
Stuttgart reject improved offer from Bayern for Woltemade
German outlet Kicker has claimed that Stuttgart have rejected a second, improved €50 million (£43m) plus €5m (£4.3m) offer from Bayern Munich for Nick Woltemade.
It would allegedly take some €80m (£69m) to prise Woltemade away from the MHP Arena.
Kicker’s report reads: "Although Stuttgart's management, including CEO Alexander Wehrle and sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth, refuse to publicly discuss a pain threshold for agreeing to a transfer, the recently rumoured €65m (£56m) doesn't seem to be the right amount.

"Having started with a three-digit figure, that wouldn't make a good impression on Stuttgart's fans. The recently rumoured €80m would be closer to a realistic target. But Bayern, on the other hand, seem far from that."
Napoli complete Noa Lang signing
Napoli have announced the signing of Noa Lang from PSV Eindhoven for a fee widely reported to be in the region of €28m (£24m).
The Netherlands international has signed a five-year contract with the Serie A side.
PSV technical director Earnest Stewart: "Noa is an unpredictable player who can break open or decide a match at any moment.
"He was a valuable asset to PSV, and off the pitch, we got to know him as a very sociable guy who fit in well with the team.
"We will miss Noa, but we wholeheartedly wish him the best with this fantastic transfer."
