Tuchel now speaks live to BT; he'd like an early goal, he says, then laughs at the stupidity of the question. He's got James in to look after Vinicius, Loftus-Cheek is in a "hybrid role", and because Chelsea need to take risks, he's picked Werner hoping his counter-pressing will be useful.
19:41
Looking at this Chelsea team, unless they score from a set-piece, it's not that easy to see where the goals are coming from. Mount and Havertz are good but not prolific, and there's not really anyone else.
19:38
Joe Cole just used the phrase "unconscious communication" talking about Modric picking out Benzema for his second brilliant header at Stamford Bridge. I like that.

The more I look at that Madrid defence, the more I see chances for Chelsea. Even if it's 0-0 after an hour, they're in the game.

Karim Benzema, though. I went to watch Man United away to Lyon in 2008 and before the game, the locals were rhapsodising him - with good reason. He scored a beautiful goal, and has been a tremendous player for a long time now. It took him a while to be recognised as such - I remember Gary Lineker dissing him - but his movement, touch and engine allowed for so much of what Ronaldo and Gareth Bale did. Now, though, he's the main man.

Otherwise, Werner keeps his place after scoring at the weekend - Tuchel likes his pressing and movement, which is to say he's fine until the ball comes to him. Kante was dreadful in the first leg, which likely tells us that he won't be tonight, and Kovacic is probably the best fit alongside him. Oh, and Loftus-Cheek continues at right-wing-back, which is an interesting choice - he's a player who can do so many things, but needs to get better at doing them all the time. Perhaps he can nail down this position...
19:22
Chelsea, meanwhile, change a little after the first leg. Andreas Christensen struggled with Vinicius Jr, so instead, it's Reece James on the right of the back three. He's stronger and faster, so that looks a solid move - I'm not going to lie, I absolutely love James, and if I was managing Chelsea, he'd play in every big game. I'm pretty sure he can develop into a top centre-back if he wants to, and I also think he could play midfield.

Madrid line up as expected, and if it works well, it's a pretty nifty side. But there's not a lot of legs in that midfield, and if Chelsea can get in among them, there's joy to be had agaist that defence.
19:15
I'll just write those down, then we'll have a proper chat about what we think it all means.

He says Chelsea aren't a fancy team, but if they work hard they can be very difficult to play against. That's an interesting and fair assessment - I wonder how he plans to change that. He also says that they had a team meeting after the first leg - every time he watched it he got more angry - and Matteo Kovacic laughs that his manager did most of the talking. Chelsea have been much better since then, so they'll be fancying themselves tonight.
19:05
In fact BT are showing an interview with Tuchel, so let's quickly do that.

Let's have some teams...

It's a funny one, this. Ordinarily, you'd expect a 3-1 home gubbing to mean elimination and, in this case, the end of Chelsea's Champions League defence. But with no away goals rule in operation, there's just a little window of opportunity: Thomas Tuchel's men have kept out better sides than Carlo Ancelotti's Madrid, and they're capable of scoring twice against anyone. Obviously it's still a long shot, but this tie isn't over.
