GOAL! Manchester United 1-2 Atalanta (Rashford) GAME ON! A stray pass from Zappacosta goes straight to Bruno, who crafts a ludicrous outside of the foot passd that sticks Rashford in! His first touch is lovely and he opens his body, sliding delicately into the far corner! Hold tight!

Palomino heads another corner clear and when Atalanta break, Lindelof steps across Muriel. United have at least learnt something these last few weeks.

United don't get anywhere near enough defensive work out of their wide attackers. You can't have the two of them and Bruno hanging about Ronaldo, but anyway, United win a corner which Lovato heads clear; Rashford controls well, then slaps another shot wide of the near post.

United miss another chance! United win it in midfield and Bruno curves a luscious pass into Ronaldo's path! He charges into the box and leathers a left-footer, but straight at Masso who blocks ... then Rashford shanks the rebound wide of the near post!

On the touchline, Cavani is getting ready. Rashford might be flagging, Greenwood hasn't done much, Ronaldo is playing in his positon.

Demiral does now go off, Lovato replacing him. I think Atalanta are now missing the entirety of their first-choice back three.

United haven't played that badly, but have had an absolute disaster nonetheless. That's what happens if you defend badly and finish poorly.

AND THEY DO! Bruno drops deep, lofts a hopeful over the top, and Demiral misses it! Rashford is in, right side of the box, and his absolutely clatters it ... against the bar! United can't do anything right!

Nice from United, Rashford, Bruno and Fred triangulating, a gorgeous flick from Bruno sending Fred through! He slips inside his man, readies his trusty right foot ... and clumps it wide! That is a terrible oversight!

Bruno clips through the middle and Greenwood, who's been anonymous, leaves it ... Rashford is in! But he dithers, allowing Demiral to slide in brilliantly! He's been immense so far, and though the flag goes up. had Rashford scored, I think VAR would've allowed the goal.

Atalanta haven't threatened goal for a while, but here they are with Ilicic, who ffeds Muriel on the edge ... and he shoots straight at De Gea.

If United lose tonight, Solskjaer's position will become increasingly perilous. Nothing will get easier given the fixtures coming up, and the board might think that they can salvage the season, and therefore their meal tickets, if they get a new man in, because this team is a lot better than what we're seeing.

United have had the ball in decent areas but their final ball or final call has been off ... and it is again, Bruno's pass threaded ahead of Rashford, has too much on it.

Pogba has been warming up. Obviously he can do amazing things, but I'm not certain he's what United need at this point; I'd be looking at Sancho and possibly Cavani.
