Manchester United moved a touch closer to the top three of the Women's Super League with a 4-1 victory over lowly Everton. Ella Toone played a starring role with two goals, which were added to by Millie Turner's opener and Leah Galton's final-minute strike. United went in a goal down at half time thanks to Katja Snoeijs, and Marc Skinner's side were booed off at the interval.

Manchester United kept their hopes of finishing in the Women’s Super League top three alive with a 4-1 win over Everton.
Ella Toone’s brace helped Marc Skinner’s side en route to victory, against an Everton side who are the lowest scorers in the league this term.
However, it was Brian Sorensen’s visitors, who lie 10th in the table, who went ahead at Leigh Sports Village, with Maya Le Tissier selling Mary Earps short with a backpass, allowing Katja Snoeijs to round the United goalkeeper and slot home for an early lead on 10 minutes.
However, the Toffees, who went in at half time ahead, could not hold on, as an onslaught ensued in the second half.
Millie Turner powered home a header from a corner three minutes shy of the hour, before Toone struck her first with a rasping shot from just outside the area into the bottom corner on 60 minute mark.
Lisa Naalsund’s dart then set up Toone for her second five minutes later, before Leah Galton stepped off the bench to give Everton one final sucker-punch and ease the tensions that had arisen at half time, when United were booed off by a selection of the home support.
The Red Devils are hunting down third place in the WSL, with the top three qualifying for the Women’s Champions League, which United played in most recently in October, where they were beaten across two legs by Paris Saint-Germain.

Hammers and Seagulls draw

West Ham inched closer to WSL survival with a goalless draw at home against Brighton, ending a two-match slide and increasing their lead over bottom-placed Bristol City to a formidable seven points.
The Seagulls dominated the ball but produced little with it. Their 65% possession only yielded one shot to The Hammers' 3 in the first hour.
From that point, the home side came more and more into the game and piled up the chances. Neither side was able to find a breakthrough and match ended 0-0.
The point lifts Brighton above Leicester into eighth place.
