"Good first day for them together playing in the middle. They give balance, they give personality, they give stability in the middle of the team.

"They mix very well as well in terms of qualities and personalities and that's what we want for any team.

"They did really well, but today we will need another big one in this stadium against Everton, a tough opponent.

"They are in a good run so we are expecting a tough challenge."

Chelsea’s João Pedro has been involved in more goals than any other player in the Premier League this season (5 goals, 3 assists), registering at least two goal involvements in four of his five appearances so far.

After a run of just one goal in seven Premier League games, Everton’s Thierno Barry has now scored in his last two appearances. He last scored in three consecutive league games back in August 2024, in the Swiss Super League with Basel.

Chelsea's Danny Welbeck has scored against Everton in the Premier League with Sunderland (2), Man Utd (1), Arsenal (1) and Brighton (1). There are seven instances a player has scored against a club with five different teams, with Nicolas Anelka the only to do so against the Toffees (Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City, Bolton, Chelsea).

Although Everton boss David Moyes has never won in 21 attempts in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea, he has won eight of his last 13 home games against the Blues (D2 L3), with those split between four wins with Everton and four with West Ham.

Though they’re the third highest goalscorers in the Premier League this season, no side has conceded more so far this term than Chelsea (13). The Blues have conceded in each of their last 22 league games, only once having a longer run without a clean sheet (31 games between November 1960 and August 1961).

Everton remain one of three teams still unbeaten in the Premier League this season (along with Man City and Brentford), winning two and drawing four of their six games. Only in 2006-07 have they had a longer run from the start of a campaign in the competition (first 7).

Chelsea lost 3-0 on their first visit to the Hill Dickinson Stadium in March. The last time they suffered defeat in their first two Premier League matches in a stadium was at Sunderland's Stadium of Light in 1999-00 (1-4) and 2000-01 (0-1).

Across the last five Premier League seasons (since 2022-23), Reece James hasn't played in 81 Premier League games for Chelsea (including today), more games than he has featured in (78).

Harrison Armstrong is the fourth teenager to start each of Everton's first seven games of a Premier League season after Michael Ball (17 in 1998-99), Francis Jeffers (7 in 2000-01) and Ross Barkley (9 in 2013-14).
