President Ali Bongo visited the Gabon players before the match. A tense meeting, I’d say. "The message was clear. The expectations are very high. We have no other choice but to win that match,'' said goalkeeper Didier Ovono.

Cameroon’s Christian Bassogog has recovered from a slight ankle injury and features in the Indomitable Lions’ starting XI.
“We know what we have to do. We have to concentrate on our ourselves not on Gabon, look at our own game and way to play,” said coach Hugo Broos said (per BBC).
"The pressure will be enormous on Gabon's shoulders. The most important thing is for us to be in the game from the first second - if we go on the pitch with that mentality it will be even more difficult for Gabon."

Gabon have to do without Juventus midfielder Mario Lemina and full-back Johann Obiang who are both out injured. Thankfully, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is fit and well to lead the attack.

Gabon will exit the tournament if they are defeated by leaders Cameroon who only need a draw to progress. A third consecutive draw for Gabon may see them through but only if the other Group A match between Burkina Faso and Guinea Bissau also ends in stalemate but with fewer goals.
