Rusedski loses on return

British number two Greg Rusedski lost his first main tour ATP match, since clearing his name of a drugs offence, against Jurgen Melzer 6-2 7-6 in St Pölten on Tuesday. The Austrian swept through the first set but 30-year-old Rusedski made the Melzer work

Rusedski returned to competitive tennis in March, winning a dead rubber in Great Britain's Davis Cup Euro/African zone clash against Luxembourg.
He then went on to lose in the first rounds of two clay-court ATP Challenger Tour events.
In other action on Tuesday, Xavier Malisse of Belgium breezed past American Hugo Armando 6-2 6-2 in the second round, while Italian eighth seed Filippo Volandri beat Dutchman Raemon Sluiter 6-4 6-2.
Russian third seed Nikolay Davydenko overcame Mario Ancic of Croatia 6-4 7-5.
