AAT president Enrique Morea refused to back the players, however, and insists Luza will stay.
Morea said: "From now on, the Davis Cup team captain will be chosen without asking the players. We choose him and there's no discussion about that.
"Luza has been an excellent captain and he will go to the Olympic Games."
Luza was surprised at the players' unrest but believes the situation could be resolved with dialogue.
He said: "I never did anything bad to anybody but everything can be solved.
"With talking we can reach an agreement."
Luza led Argentina to the David Cup semi-finals in 2003 but they crashed out of this year's event at the quarterfinal stage after an injury-hit squad went down 5-0 to Belarus.
