Kyren Wilson was left in disbelief at the form that Barry Hawkins brought to the German Masters final as the 'Hawk' pulled off a full-table double in Berlin.
The pair were battling it out in a thrilling Sunday showpiece at the Tempodrom, with world champion Wilson leading 8-7, but with Hawkins hot on his tail in the 16th frame.
Hawkins was in the process of building a solid break, but it looked set to come to an end as he failed to drop on a red as intended.
He surveyed the situation before lining up, and pulling off, an audacious double to the yellow pocket.
"It's possibly a game-changer," said Neal Foulds in the Eurosport commentary box, as roars of approval rang round the Tempodrom.
Hawkins took the frame, and the players shared the following two to set up a decider - which went the way of Wilson.
In his winner's speech, Wilson said that the pair had a laugh about Hawkins' form in the toilet during the interval, and he lauded the double on the red.
"The clearance Barry made, we laughed about it as we went to the toilet," Wilson said on Eurosport.
"I've never seen such a good shot when he's doubled the red; landed on the black, landed on the red.
"I'm thinking, 'What the hell have I got to do to shake this man off?'
"Barry is a fantastic competitor. I had to hold myself together, pot a couple of big balls to get over the line."
The world champion added another ranking title to his collection, which sets him up nicely for an assault on the Welsh Open, which begins on Monday, February 10 on Eurosport and discovery+ in Llandudno.
Wilson has never made the final at the Venue Cymru, he reached the final when it was held in Cardiff, and he will be hoping to use the momentum he has built in Berlin to spur him on to a second successive ranking crown.
