SCOTLAND FINISH QUILTER NATIONS SERIES ON HIGH NOTE WITH EIGHT-TRY SHUTOUT
Scotland stormed to a 56-0 victory against Tonga at Murrayfield Stadium to turn their November struggles on their head.
After disappointing defeats to New Zealand and Argentina earlier in the month, the latter featuring a squandered 21-0 lead, it was a brilliant showing with replacements George Horne and Ewan Ashman notably scoring two tries each.
Vice-captain Jamie Ritchie opened the scoring early with a try in the ninth minute, and George Turner and Max Williamson would follow shortly after to make it a 21-0 lead in the first-half.
Tonga were bogged down by penalty struggles, and these were compounded by Semisi Paea scooping up an early yellow that was later changed to red.
The world No. 19s continued to play a significant part of the match with another man down as they racked up another three yellows over the course of the game.
Scotland wasted no time with their advantage, and they took a slew of tries in the second-half despite a seemingly energised Tonga after the break.
Duhan van der Merwe took the first, claiming a record 35th try for his country, going one clear of Darcy Graham. Ashman then followed with another two, both from rolling mauls.
Horne scored his brace of tries with stellar sprints, being set up first by Kyle Rowe and then Ritchie, and then nailed the last three conversions of the day. Fergus Burke had already made the first five in perfect fashion.
Tonga could not muster anything in the remaining minutes and Scotland celebrated a clean sheet after a Quilter Nations Series full of ups and downs.

BRADBURY: 'WE WANT TO COME HERE AND WIN EVERY SINGLE WEEK.'
Player of the Match Bradbury to TNT Sports: "This match was really important. We chatted about what happened at the end of the game last week. There was a lot of rotation, but we still had to carry that responsibility of right and wrong. I think in that game, we could have scored more points. Pretty frustrated with how many opportunities we had and didn't take. But still a great result, 56-0, boys will be happy with that.
"The most important thing for us is the fans. We love playing here because of the fans, we love winning here to inspire the fans. They're our motivation as well. Every time it's an opportunity to impress.
"We can look at results or we can look at the performances, and we know if we got a couple more things right in those middle two games, we could have won them. That's the belief we have, and we're frustrated not to win. We want to come here and win every single week, no matter how we're playing. There's always going to be improvements to be made."
