ENGLAND HOLD OFF ARGENTINA COMEBACK TO COMPLETE AUTUMN GRAND SLAM
Max Ojomoh inspired England to an 11th straight victory, but only after the home side were forced to hold off a fierce second-half recovery by Argentina in an epic 27-23 win in the Quilter Nations Series.
Winning his second cap, the outstanding Ojomoh (10') scored England's opening try at the Allianz Stadium before an impeccable kick from the Bath centre enabled Immanuel Feyi-Waboso (25') to power over for the second as Steve Borthwick's men raced 17-0 clear before half-time.
It could have been more for the home side with Luke Cowan-Dickie seeing a third score ruled out in the final action of the first period after he was deemed to have dropped the ball on the line by a TMO call.
Holding a 17-3 advantage did not mean much in a rousing second-half as the powerful Pumas embarked upon another stirring salvage operation following their 33-24 comeback win from 21-0 behind against Scotland at Murrayfield last Sunday.
Tries from Justo Piccardo (45') and a last-gasp finish from Rodrigo Isgro (80') set up a grandstand finish with Joaquin Oviedo also seeing a try cancelled by the TMO in the 78th minute for dropping the ball.
Henry Slade accepted a lovely pass from Ojomoh to add what seemed like a match-clinching try on 66 minutes as England moved 27-16 clear, boosted by George Ford's boot.
But they were forced to hold on for dear life as The Pumas, inspired by the wonderful handling skills of Santiago Carreras, refused to buckle.
Despite being reduced to 14 men late-on with Juan Cruz Mallia forced off due to a late Tom Curry challenge that prompted some animated scenes in the tunnel between coaches and players at full-time, England were forced to thump the ball into touch in the 84th minute, deep in their 22 from a Pumas line-out to complete a frantic win.
Ford also chipped in a drop goal and a penalty that proved vital in the final analysis, with England matching their previous 11-match winning run under Sir Clive Woodward in 2000/01.
After defeating Australia, Fiji, New Zealand and Argentina in the Quilter Nations Series, they can look forward to making a real push for the Six Nations title when they host Wales in their tournament opener on Saturday, February 7.

ELLIS GENGE PRAISE FOR RISING ENGLAND STAR HENRY POLLOCK
"It's been amazing," Genge told TNT Sports.
"You've got 20-year-olds like Pollock, or 19 when he first came into camp. I enjoy watching him loving it. He's a superstar in his own right and he deserves it.
"Obviously, sometimes you have to tell him to wind his neck in, but he's a ball of energy, and it almost gives me a new lease of life.
"When you're getting old, you've got three kids, and then you've got a bloke coming in with the Gaultier and he thinks he's the boy.
"He gives me a new lease on life and I genuinely love watching him enjoying himself.
"I do feel like a dad, ironically, he gives me energy.
"I love watching his work."

Carreras with sublime level of play as the Pumas find the space to work it right through the phases and earn a penalty deep in England's 22. But England win ball off the lineout in the 84th minute to finally see out the victory as Mitchell thumps the ball into the stands. So, so good from the Pumas to make this a contest. England scramble over the line for an 11th straight win.

Would you believe this. The Pumas not yet done as Oviedo finishes a off a period of powerful possession for the visitors. But it has been disallowed by the TMO. Same as the Cowan-Dickie effort. Short of line and lost ball. Alex Coles receives a yellow card. All happening.

COMETH THE HOUR, COMETH GEORGE FORD
A penalty won off the maul is celebrated by the home fans. England go to the trusty boot of George as they extend the lead to 27-16 in these final 10 minutes or so. Vital that the game management skills are put in place out there. Job not yet done against these Pumas.

TRY! ENGLAND EXTEND THEIR LEAD!
Wow! That is just what the doctor ordered as Slade goes over after Pollock wins the lineout with real relish. Ford adds the extras after he opted for touch rather than the kick at goal. England get the rewards. Ojomoh with his second assist of the match for Slade. 24-16 now.

ENGLAND SETTING UP BASE CAMP IN PUMAS HALF
They work 11 phases of play in the visiting half, probing and pushing the Pumas, before Ford somehow hooks a drop goal wide of the posts. Not what we expect from him. But these things happen in a one-point game. For Murrayfield last week, read the Allianz Stadium this week. Can England steady the ship?
