ENGLAND DOMINATE WALES WITH SEVEN-TRY WIN
England got their Six Nations campaign off to the perfect start with a 48-7 victory over an ill-disciplined Wales team on Saturday.
Steve Borthwick’s side have now won 12 games on the bounce and dismantled the Dragons in impressive style at the Allianz Stadium.
Henry Arundell punished the visitors for conceding an early penalty by scoring his first of a hat-trick of tries, with just seven minutes on the clock.
Steve Tandy’s visitors were warned about their high penalty count, but further infringements by Nicky Smith and skipper Dewi Lake saw them both sent to the sin-bin early in the match.
England took advantage as Arundell linked up with the influential George Ford to score his second try, before Ben Earl made it 22-0 with just 23 minutes played.
Arundell completed his first half hat-trick to put the game out of sight before Tom Roebuck added a fifth try just minutes into the second half.
Wales did rally and Josh Adams pulled a try back as the Red Roses were tested physically.
Steve Borthwick turned to his bench and Ben Pollock forced a penalty try, with Taine Plumtree carded for a high tackle.
The win was completed and Tommy Freeman was rewarded for his performance with his side’s seventh try at the death.
England will march on to face Scotland at Murrayfield next Saturday, while Wales face France.

LAKE: DISCIPLINE ‘LET US DOWN’
Wales captain Dewi Lake felt his side’s discipline let them down in their 48-7 defeat at the hands of England.
"We're massively disappointed in ourselves," said Lake to ITV Sport. "We can't expect things to go our way all the time.
"We have to make them happen. We're not a team that's going get the rub of the green at the minute or going to get 50-50 decisions. So we have to be squeaky clean.
"We played large amounts of that game with 13 men. We spoke all week about discipline, and we let ourselves down in that area massively today."

FORD: ‘WE GOT EARLY FOOTHOLD’
England fly-half George Ford praised his side’s forwards for dominating the early stages during their 48-7 win against Wales.
"I’m delighted with the result," said Ford talking to ITV Sport. "By and large I thought our performance was good. There's still a tad of frustration in that as well.
"Particularly for 20 minutes in the second half. We wanted to start with a good result. The start of the test match is always massive, in the first 10, 15, 20 minutes, tactically to give you a foot hold in the game and put your stamp on it a little bit.
"We were able to dominate territory because of the boys up front."
