Italy are seven points favourites to beat Wales, and would have been higher if the injuries were known about prior, while France and Ireland are just favored to win by six over Scotland and England respectively.

Wales were caught out trying to move the ball a long way from goal in their humiliating defeat at France last week. This is one area Warren Gatland is looking for the side to change today.

"We've had a good week of training," Gatland said.

"It's important not to overplay in midfield today."

Before the two day-game outs, Wales did have positive news with number eight Taulupe Faletau returning to their line up for the first time since the 2023 World Cup.

Just the change at lock, with Cannone replacing Lamb, for Italy from the side which pushed Scotland for much of the game in Murrayfield last time out.
